I hope that's not your first bike. If it is and we need to get you in the dirt.
Yep, it's my first bike. I was fairly concerned about the maint. at first, but I've already added a dual sport kit, replaced the clutch pack, changed the oil, bled the brakes, and checked the valves. It is a very easy machine to work on.
I am planning on getting up to Noontootla and Amicolola on Sunday if I can.
Wish I could join ya but with the rain and just getting over a broke arm, I'm going to pass. Be carefull and let's see a ride report.
Man, here I am thinking 'cool, a new bar I haven't heard of' and I finally get the lowdown on where (and what) it is. Yeah, that clue went over my head.
I gotta admit, you stumped me on that one. I had to lean on a friend who grew up here.
I figured that some of you guys would have a sense of humor about it, lol.
If it's what I think it is, know wonder I was clueless. :ddog Can't wait till coates get's wind of this.
Man, thats old skool. how in the hell did you know where that place was? don't ask me how i know.
My buddy's response is classic:
"Yeah, I was a little hesitant to divulge my knowledge of the place, but it's a great way to cut through to miss traffic on ....."
One of my buddies is a patron and took my wife and I there.
WTF? Didn't any of you cats go out and shake yo thang last nite? Go play a few rounds, then order a few rounds, then get the tag.!!!
I should have time this afternoon to go snag this one. I have another tag lined up that I'd like to explore, so fair warning to anyone considering it--get off yo asses!
(I rode about 300 miles yesterday so I have a good excuse for not getting this.)
Jeebus, I just thought it was a funny tag. I didn't mean to kill the game.
Death by gay bar
Jenna, you and I should go get this tag! These guys are afraid of 'the boys'. :ymca I wish I had a bike in Atlanta. SR
I stopped by to say hi to the boys tonight
Damn that place is hidden! I used to go to Royal Bagel years ago (and Ansley Wine Merchant--best wine store ever) and never knew it was there.
...and I also had time to get the next tag
More to follow.
Jeff (or I guess, for this post, call me Jeffrey )
The next tag FriedDuck is inside with the bike
Two KTM's out the front, does this prove that KTM riders are all like Coates
Man, Duck. I almost gave up on you. You're on, Patti. We may have to show these cats up at some point. waiting with baited breath for the new tag!!. bated breath? whatever...
So here we go. Something about buying a dual-sport has made me want to seek out urban refuges, and this one captivated me. Clues:
--It's inside the perimeter
--It was built in 1906
--At one time was an indoor pistol range
--It was dynamited in the 60s
Though there are trails & I rode em I'm not clear if it's cool to ride in there. There's an approach from a different direction that I think is used by people on foot or bike, so I'll allow any latitude you want in getting this one (pics from the entrance, say.) Anyway this should be a fun escape to a part of Atlanta you haven't seen.
From David Kaufman's book Peachtree Creek here's a photo that shows (at the right edge) the tower that's visible behind my bike in the 1st pic.
That's enough clues for now, methinks.
The old Decatur Water Works
I didn't get to ride any of the trails as there was a rail road crew working there and I didn't want to get hassled. I will be back there though, cool tag.
I'll try and get my new tag up as soon as the rain lets up a bit.
Oh now it's on! Speed-tagging with ground-pounding nitro-burning thunder!
Dude that was fast - I need to provide less clues (or pick tags that aren't so obviously close to my home)
I didn't have to work today, so I took a while to figure out the clues. If it wasn't for the book clue, there is no way I would have got it. It still took a while to figure out.
But I also wanted to get this thread going again, as I think it is a ton of fun. That was the best tag yet fo' sho'.
