    Hey all...
Just got a new (to me anyway) 2006 KLR650. Looking to get together with some folks to learn and ride the hills here outside of the springs. I saw on an earlier post that you guys used to meet somewhat regular, you still get together? ...or just occasional coffee at Black Bear (Great breakfast burritos). In the fall when my work slows down, i'd like to do some over-night rides.
I just retired from the Army, and got a job as a bicycle mechanic... it time to have fun! (Thursdays and Sundays off)

That's a high quality first post Doug. Welcome and congrats on retirement.

There's pretty regular rides out of CS on weekends, watch this space.

I'm in a church choir that sings Sundays through May. I'm taking back my Sundays to worship at the Shrine of the Immaculate Combustion all Summer. I'll be happy to KLR the hell our of Sundays in 5 weeks.

Always looking for other folks to get into trouble with! Hopefully we'll get a planned ride going soon. I tend to be a last minute opportunist.

Do you know about the KLR wrenching day next weekend at Sgt. Marty's place? Although I have a DR I'm planning on riding up.

Which shop are you wrenching in?

Hey Windage, thanks for the info on the KLR wrenching day. I work on Saturdays, but I'll check out the web site. Maybe if ya'll are running late, I'll try to catch you.
Oh, I work at Old Town Bike Shop on south Tejon.

So , does anybody know who might have a 18" Shinko 805 in stock today? Some moran thought he could just take a 17" to the shop to be spooned on.
Apparently pro shops frown on that kinda thing.

Are you trying to get a 17" tire on a 18" wheel?

Not really. Just looks that way from incorrect ordering and bad shipping - Lack of attention to detail on my part.

RLK - Thank you for the offer & info. Think that will be too small for this one. ? I have another one coming, but will miss " training " this weekend.
(the 950 is asking for a 150/70/18 ) It looks so big I did not even think to double check size - Thanks again, KT

A 4.60x18 will be a little narrow for the 950 rear but will work in a pinch.

I put the 4.60 Shinko 700s on my XR650R, and it looks silly, because it's so small! I have a set of Track Masters that I plan to replace these 700s with! Then the 700s will be for sale in the FM more than likely! I just passed my VIN/DOT/CHP Inspection, now I need to get her plated! BRAAAAAAAP!!!!

I imagine a 950 would melt it pretty quick but its here needing to be used. I'll be around the shop in and out pretty late, come n get it if you can stand to ride on a leeetle tire for your training. PM.

    Hello all,

Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask this question, but I'm in a bit of a situation and need some advice.

What are some good KTM service/repair places in or near Colorado Springs?

I'm on a trip with some friends from North Carolina and my 2008 KTM 990 Adventure started heating up a couple of days ago. Coolant level in the overflow dropped and last night I found milky oil. So I may need a water pump shaft/seal or (hopefully not) head gasket(S) changed...

    Thanks,
    Marco

If you're in Colorado Springs, I'd take it down to Apex Sports
