I have the same picture showing my partial detached and soon to be missing chain guard. Lost somewhere between there and black sage

By this late date you've probably figured it out but Mt Herman is a nice ride during the week and early in the morning on weekends, but not the bulk of the day on weekends. Too many teens taking mommy's Grand Cherokee and thinking they're rally drivers.:uhoh. I've been forced off the road twice over the years, now I just avoid it on weekends.

I agree, the weekends are too busy. It's an ok ride on the big 990, it's much easier on a small dirt bike. I've been up a few times by myself, but I won't be trying it two-up.

Would anyone from our fair front range area be headed to Phoenix for the AHRMA races next month?
I believe they are held on about the 8th-10th of Feb. I am trying to pick up a 990 motor from California. Trying to
    set up an ADV relay.

Try Hitchcock industries. Great guy knows what he is doing. Had work done on 3 different bikes by him. Always happy. He is in Denver though.

Bryan Penny does all my suspension for dirt and ADV type bikes.
His business is Full Factory Offroad.
He specializes in KTM stuff, and is the KTM sales guy @ Fay Myers. He revalved/resprung my 950 ADV front and back, and recently repaired my 690R rear shock after I blew it out doing a rough pass late last summer. Awesome service, great pricing, top notch work.

    I 2nd these recommendations

Brian. Great work and fair prices. He can modify, re-valve re-tune.

If just a rebuild, Jeff @ Apex. Better book it quick he is going on vacation in a few days. ;)

With this recent warm/dry spell and the way the next few days are looking, I'm thinking I want to ride and go see some snowy mountains on Saturday. Do you guys think I would be able to get close enough to Monarch Pass (probably just via 24 or 50) to make it worth it? Or what would you guys recommend. I was also considering Pikes Peak but it looks like it's going to be very windy up there on Sat.

This was 2-3 weeks ago on Monarch Pass. A little dicey at the top.
