Yeah Rob, remember last summer when your chain broke 100 yards from camp, or DVDaze last year when your rear hub exploded? Add two more KTM's.:lol3

Just plain died. Completely dead. Key on- NOTHING.
I have a cigarette plug in the glove box on the tank. A nickle rolled in and shorted out the main fuse. Good news, had AAA and I learned where the main fuse is.

Yep, but the chain and the hub weren't OEM. So not KTM issue.

Thanks again for loaning me that rim in DVD.

Do tell? Can you show me a documented failure of the gears when maintained according to service manual? I bet not.

The only two failures I know of are Catfish's at 302 hours and one other that was north of 200 hours. When you fail to maintain a bike, stuff breaks. Poor maintenance will lead to breakdowns.

I changed my gears. Since I don't race, I went a bit over 100 hours.

Of course my claiming no breakdowns is tongue in cheek. Anything mechanical can fail at any given time. I have been pretty lucky over the years.

I have had 2 failures in my lifetime. XR600 that I knew was coming and I rode it anyway until the top end blew. I needed a tow for that one.

The other was my POS KTM300. The powervalve got stuck which lead to a broken gear segment pin. Thankfully, I was able to make it back to the truck. I still have the KTM. It's dialed in nice but has been just like owning a boat. HUGE money pit.
