For the record, KTM 990/950 , LC8 frame 3D files
CAD files: http://grabcad.com/library/ktm-lc8
That can be handy, looking for a subframe drawing, would prefer something easier to work with like sketchup rather then CAD but maybe things can be converted.
Very nicely done. Thank you.
Your frames on GrabCAD are super detailed. Are they from scans or how did you generate them. I have been very interested in the Honda GL650 frame and the new KTM 1190 frame.
Thanks for taking the time to create and share. What program are you using?
If you scanned the frame... any chance you have actual wt?
I did not make the model. Someone called Fabrizio in Italy done it. I just came across it and thought it will be a idea good to reference it here.
They must be using 3D scanning tools, I can't imagine someone doing all that work without scanning.
Sketchup does not understand stl or stp (STEP) files natively. It needs plugins or you have to convert them to .dae files in a different application.
see : http://eagleup.wordpress.com/2011/08/09/import-step-files-for-your-models/
If you just want to view/rotate the model click on 3D button here :http://grabcad.com/library/ktm-lc8
To view and measure accurate use eDrawing viewer for windows but you can't edit the model using this app.
More advanced apps that also let edit the model are FreeCAD and Blender. They are available for Mac, windows and linux.
Fantastic! Can someone email me the .stp file if I PM you my address? I would rather not register. Cheers :)
Is it SD?
Have rebuild both an Adventure and Super Duke frame. Both weighed about 23 lbs. So,... about 10.5 Kg?
Funny, the stock muffler on the Super Duke weighed 25 lbs.
