I just got the Summer 2012 issue of BMW Motorcycle Magazine today and that R75/5 cafe rig is something else, well worth the price of the magazine for the article. There is a great Ruko S1000RR rig in the magazine also. Here is an online writeup of the Ruko, not a cafe but definitely not your average roadburner either. http://www.sidecar-news.de/newscombinations/ruko---beemer-for-the-advanced/index.html

Keep us updated- that will be really nice. Magura made extra wide, low sidecar handlebars, only 1" rise but a couple inches wider. One of the BMW restoration places could find a set for you.

These were taken a couple of weeks ago. This shop called and said that it should be finished in a few more days, although I am now waiting on some new cone pipes as I hate these cheap shorties! The new custom seat was made for the wrong wheel base (LWB) and is for sale for $499 on ebay now! (I was just seeing if it fit for the 1st time.) Also I am not liking the Buca bags that I bought and had them paint and make a custom brackets for, so I will be selling those also for probably $799.99 once I get the bike home. (bags are missing the reflectors in the rear, but we have them, they were just not installed before I took the pics) I also have since had them fab a new step for the sidecar, install a new light for the sidecar and mod the sidecar wheel cover to open when the passenger enters and exits the sidecar. I also noticed that they have not installed the headlight fairing that I mailed them? I also requested that they shorten the seat rail length to look more cafe like. Finally they are also making a custom one person seat for me with a light in the seat and the words cafe racer etched underneath in the seat that will be visible when the light is on. Oops, I forgot they also fabed a new license plate holder with a bracket for the rear signal lights that can side in and out depending on if the bags or on the bike or not, and a long brake light over top of the plate that will also be tucked in under the seat. The current side plate I will be selling once I get the bike back. $14.99. Also purchased a old school helmet and had them paint it the same as the bike. Enjoy:lol3

the cafe racer look is the direction i want to take my lefty rig. the bike was originally built about 15 years ago by fellow inmate ROBTG. Here are some specs on the the bike, frame was sectioned 2", bmw mono shock in the rear, swaybar, 15" wheels all around. i picked the bike up as a rolling chassis and rebuilt it (with help). Some other things that i have done to the bike are boxermetal rear sets, acewell speedo, redesigned the front brakes from duel bmw rotors with xs650 calipers to 1 cast iron rotor from spegiler with 1150 gs caliper.

feel free to check out my rebuild thread.
