Im definitely interested in a weekend Mountain View run, so lets plan something closer to July. Later in the month works better for me. Friday - Sunday 2 nights camping.

As for dumping my Sertao, I hit a soft mound of dirt and my front tire just sunk, fairly low speed dump, but I feel better to have the first one out of the way.

Hi Durden, I bought the DVD's from Dual Sport Riding and like to get out after kids are in bed to try some of the things in the videos. There is a big construction site in the NW with lots of hills, don't know how it compares to that one. If you want some company and help picking up your bike let me know. (Maybe you can help me pick up my bike too).

Just noticed my title went from Noob to Adventurer. Sweeeeet.

^^ Ya for sure, there is a good location just up Sarcee past Beacon Hill, its nice and dry and the construction crew are gone in the evenings. I know its officially trespassing, but I've never had a problem with them as long as you're just cruising around, the area is just massive. PM me or I'll ping you if it dry's out - we'll need a few days of no rain now that its probably a mud bog.

Just don't make too much noise! =) That's my backyard.. sorta.

I've rode in there a few times to test set-up. Nobody is around to care except the one day a MX bike was showing off his lack of skill and making a racket. I refrained from going over and voicing my opinion.

As with any new area, just be cautious of terrain. There are sometimes holes, drop offs, etc.

If I had my bike I'd join you!

Wow, looks involved! Post pictures of final set-up! I assume projector headlights?

Are you bolting a GPS to the fairing when done?

Try Tj cycle? Some Hondas and other bikes use mini blade fuses and have very small blocks to house them. Might be able to get one cheap. Go see Mark.

Sounds like a plan! It would be great to have someone that really knows the area giving us the real tour! I know at least 4 guys that would be up for this. July sometime.

Pretty sure 4trialsguy and I would be up for this. Would be best for me if it was before I head away to Off Road Skills on July 18th or after I get back on August 8th. I suppose I could just see the pictures and read the stories though...

I'm thinking of heading down toward Koocanusa June 2nd weekend. Anyone know of any good routes? (FSR etc)

You might find something like that at B & E electronics in the SE.

Could you let us know if you find one? I'll keep my eye out too, but I have a few uses for something like that.

As summer time gets pretty busy I thought I would start tossing around dates for this - how about the weekend of Friday July 20-22? This is the first post Stampede weekend. Let me know if you're interested and if the dates work. It would be 2 nights of camping - anyone is welcome.

    Ouch!!

Where did you find the other one you posted?

Did you try MRO (?) electronics just north of Bolt supply on 12th street?

I'm looking for a fuse block to add to my truck and keep the wiring clean.

Because this is often something isn't forewarned and thought of last minute but who knows about, or plans to go to the Horizons Unlimited meet in Nakusp, B.C this August 23-26th?

I hope to make it this year. Last year we were across the lake on a dual sport trip at around 10pm waiting on the ferry, being that we'd only arrive around midnight and would have to leave in the morning we decided to camp in the bush just south of Riondel and head back in the morning.

It would be fun to get a like-minded group together and ride out there. Lots of different options to get out there, some of which are a great challenge to make things interesting!

PS, if those don't know off-road routes to get out there I can preselect some on a GPX file with varying difficulty depending on what people want to ride. Unfortunately, once across the ferry my information is limited so that will have to be up to you to either explore, or ride the stellar pavement. It really is a good time!
