That GS course was so much fun I almost want to do it again. But I will spend that money on equipment for bike camping instead.

I am game to head out to wildrose mx park to ride around once it opens up again. Lots of fun terrain.

I did the very first one they put on a couple years ago. They brought in the instructors from the Monteal BMW dealer who were trained by the factory instructors over in Germany. They later taught the Blackfoot instructors who are now running the courses several times a year.

It is an excellent course and lots of fun. By the end of the day I was doing things I never thought I could with my F800GS. I'm really looking forward to my April trip to Rawhyde for the continuation on this training. :clap

I wanna do it on a Friday as I don't work. Buddy at work is in too. He just bought a v-strom. So? Any consensus on meet night. Looks like a couple of nights don't work for people. Have to see what we can figure.

And yes I know Mondays are the only times but I'm an optimist something may come up. Or use an accrued lieu day.

It's never gonna work for everyone - pick a time and place and we can see how it evolves. I travel a lot for work, so it'll be hit and miss for me.

I like the coffee idea once its riding season, since I don't drink when riding. Besides, if we meet a Starbucks, I can ride the GSA and confirm all of Shibby's views on BMW riders :rofl

Bad coffee AND GS and Orange bikes?

I'm going to have to re-think my confirmation of attending...

    ...

If anybody knows of a clean, low mileaged XRR for sale let me know. I want another one.. Stolen is good too (kidding).

The "scenery" adds nicely to the sub-par coffee. Hence my selection.

They're made by Fournier out of Quebec. Have an extra road tire carcass inside the knobby tire.

Spent some time today reading the ride reports for rides I got to do this summer. Anybody else do that or just me? I just wanted to thank the people who made the summer so fun.

I got to go on my first ride with somebody, got to try water crossings, learned where lots of cool trails are, got lots of advice for good stuff to buy for the bike, learned exactly how tough a hill climb it too tough for me, and got to see riders ride big bikes like they were dirtbikes.

I look forward to meeting everyone I didn't get to meet already.

    Can't wait for spring.

Why haven't you been out last week. Bumpy paved and dirt roads are open. Did MacLean as far as the gate. Cross Conservatory Rd. 242. Bunch of stuff between Turner Valley and Bragg Creek. I know some of this stuff isn't that exciting on an XRL but at least get out and ride. Dry roads all the way. Too late now. Snow Storm happening.:evil

I removed the smogtopus from my bike and haven't had time to put it back together. Even when I do, I have a lot of ice between the garage and the bare pavement. I got a headed vest and just ordered heated gloves so that should make it possible to ride cooler weather. I realize the xr650l may not be able to keep up to the demands of 2 heated accessories so I have some batteries I can keep in my pocket to power the vest.

If you know when you are heading out and want company, PM me and I will try to make it.

Rode this AM to work at 6:30. Gauge said -15 but it was all good. Mostly dry pavement. Not gonna ride tomorrow! Anyone up for a meet this Thursday night in SE? I should be good to go for a pint that night.

Be good to get out with you again Floss and Fly. Had fun that time we happened to cross paths this summer. Still only have the big rig though, but I'm up for new challenges all the time anyway. Glad to hear you had a great season!

Hopefully get on a ride with Lycan and some of you other fellas sometime too. Spring can't come fast enough!

Central and South America is my plan for retirement (still 7 years away). I hope to get down to Baja and other parts of Mexico (Copper Canyon perhaps :thumb) before then for some practice trips first too. I had hoped to do Baja this year, but the timing didn't fit so I'm doing Rawhyde instead but will look at Baja again next year hopefully.

My bikes in the shop too, my shop that is. :lol3 I'm fitting a few new/revised accessories and have Ohlins for the front and rear on the way.

We met up on my first real ride offroad. I would have probably turned around at that first water crossing. But thanks to your enthusiasm (along with Mr Canoehead) and offer to walk beside me to help if I started to tip over, I now have some river crossing experience. Your big rig will go all the fun places and you won't even damage your rims if you slow down. :rofl

The warm weather yesterday made me think about spring but today's cold snap has put an end to that.

I would make some KTM needing maintenance jokes but don't want Karma to strike down my Honda.
