10 degrees and sunny tomorrow (friday).:clap Are you into it? Was SW a few days ago and everything gravel was dry as a popcorn fart. 0 snow south of Turner Valley. Or we could do a nice 200kms quickie no further south than TV. Its all dry. Got a few guys for saturday too. May do a long one all the way down to #3 and back, as much gravel as possible. That'll be it for a while according to the forecast.

I had planned on tomorrow too but no can do. My daughter has strep throat and has had a fever for a couple days so I will be home tending to her. Saturday is a possibility depending on how long a trip you guys have planned.

First, thanks for everyone's comments. Much appreciated.

Ha ha - as Canoehead said, been there, done that! VStroms are good bikes but are crap for off-road, especially the HEAVY DL1000 that I had (but you guys already know this). I have come to the conclusion that the right mix for me is my Multistrada AND a Dual Sport bike... more on that to come.

I completely agree, and have done a fair amount on my Multi already and plan to do more. I just changed out my Ohlin's rear spring for a heavier fat-ass part and I did a lot of work on my VStrom also and enjoyed it. That being said, for recalls, warranty work and some of the electronics there's only so much you can do yourself. For instance, I can do the 12K mechanical service myself, but I can't reset the computer, etc. so like it or not I need a dealer for some things.

For anyone interested, here are links to the Rear shock replacement with Elka and the Gold valve posts I did:

Sorry I can't make it today, but I'd be street-only anyway, so have fun.

I'm sure you have, but if you haven't, read online. I'd be surprised if you can't reset your computer / warning light yourself.

If you can't, just another reason to sell the Duc before it's too late! :lol3

Sell the Duc!?!?!? Ha! Never!!! Seriously I love that bike - what a blast to ride.

There was a guy who was trying to make a basic Ducati service computer that would perform basic DDS functions but nothing I have seen yet, but you better believe as soon as there is one I'll get it.

Hope the ride was good today guys and sorry about the ticket Beema... Bummer man.

I was actually trying to be good but with the crosswinds and up and down of the Tarmac where I got nailed, it was tough to regulate my speed at all times. Oh well.

Good thing we weren't clocked earlier. Too bad a crappy ending to a fun day. Fun having a new guy in our band of merry men. New blood. More chuckles. More dust. Less wind would have been nice though. Stay tuned for more knuckle dragging twisties!
