Anyone have the current status for off highway riding northeast of Calgary? I'm thinking of riding some tracks tomorrow out towards Rosebud and Drum.

The collateral benefit of my wife's friend jamming on her to go mountain biking today is that I was able to do a bigger ride than initially planned and set my sites on the TCAT tracks that start east of Calgary and loop up to Drumheller and back. It was too much backtracking to include in my TCAT run to Manitoba last month so I was pumped to catch it with an afternoon ride. Beautiful day for a ride...

Got out to run the 450 through some singletrack in McLean Creek today.

Beautiful fall riding. I wish I had pics.

Enjoyed some Waiporous trails over the weekend. No dust and only a little mud. These pics were taken at my lunch break just before my ill fated decision to attempt a water crossing solo. Dropped the bike on both attempts in the deep mud at the exit to the crossing. 45 minutes of heavy lifting and spinning the bike around on its side in the mud and I was too exhausted to even take photos. Note to self: stick to gravel unless you have backup. No way to treat to a 1200cc motorycle. Otherwise a beautiful day on the bike.

I've done that too, but dropped in the middle of the river. Wasted the rest of a gorgeous day drying out the bike and getting it going. Over the years I've come to the conclusion I'm ok with not being Jarvis.

While you guys enjoyed your beautiful weather I took a couple days off and rode south into Montana. This was my Friday afternoon near Butte. The picture doesn't really show how bad it was out there.

I have 2- Tickets for this Saturday's, Chris Birch Kootenay Adventure Rally in Rossland BC, buddies can't make it. I would trade for 6-Pack, basically free so they don't go to waste. If anyone is interested let me know.

Damn...Butte can be cold because of the elevation I plan to ride through there the 2nd or 3rd week of Oct. on my way south to Arizona
    Wish me luck!

I was aiming for Nevada but turned around when it got really bad and was told that it got worse toward Twin Falls. Hopefully you have better luck!

Got about a 100kms in today. New rear tire is pretty good in this wet and cold weather. Howie's for pizza with some buddy's, and then we went to see It. Few errands and home. Got a few wheelies in but the rear tire let go most of the time. Lol. [IMG][IMG]

Are those stock foot pegs on the bike with the giant loop? They seem really wide.

Those look like the KTM Rally pegs. I have those. A full inch longer than stock.

I looked at those but the KTM Rally pegs were a lot less money. Not as cool, but a huge improvement over stock off road. Especially in MX boots.

They will go on my next KTM as well.

And, before someone asks.... not sure what my next KTM will be. But it would be the 1090 R if I was buying today. Still working on wearing out the 990. Almost 124,000 at the moment.
Lots of interesting options coming in the next year or so from the bike manufacturers.

I think you've a moral obligation at this point to take it to 500000. Can't let the gold wings win this one.
