I will put up a new tag tomorrow when I decide what one to use.
Where was the old one?
It was in Grass Valley at Empire Mine. On Empire Street just before 174.
Here you go, roads are a little bumpy. First time out there for me seen like good country roads to explore on.
I know the place... but when was the pic taken? I thought it was paved now, although I rode it a few years ago when it was all dirt.
*edit* On the north side just south of the range... I've driven out there for target practice, but came in from the north off of Smartville. Never have ridden out there down that road all the way through. Might be a fun after-work ride.
Ha! I knew I recognized it. I thought that the one at Empire was smaller, so I never went to go look and compare.
Took the picture yesterday. Doesn't hit pave into the north entrance to the lake. I think it's the north?
The signs made it easier...
And a little local color:
This thing almost bit me!!!
Maybe a little more mud than last time?
I found a bridge on the way back...
About a 40-mile loop out to Camp Far West (lake) from work and back into town to fuel back up for the week.
If nobody minds, I'll put up a new tag sometime this weekend. Going on a ride/camp/ride, so I might find something interesting to bring the tag out to the coast.
That was the faster tag we had in a while.
Great I can't wait to see the new tag. Have a good time and ride safe.
I kinda spaced on thinking about places & scenery to get a good tag this weekend, but this one's on day 2 of our ride on the way home.
Here's the route, and, with signage in the background, this one shouldn't be too hard.
*Edit* Just noticed this general location was tagged a couple years ago, but mine is in a different spot along the road. If anyone objects to this one, I've got a backup tag on hand. Let me know, and I will post it up.
So I was buying new tires today do I buy 50/50 or knobbies so I got the knobbies.
This tag is just a little to far for my new knobbies.
But I'm am happy to see the tag move out west maybe someone in the northwest will grab this and move it that way.
Riding to crescent city to grab a tag holy shit all the different routes. Is this the farthest northwest this tag been?
Well... it's not quite that far. More like heading through Napa, then up toward Clearlake. Double check the map & Google.
BTW, what tires did you just get? I finally upgraded from the stock Anakee 3s on my bike to the Mitas E07'S. The grip on dirt is great and the road grip is improving as I've scrubbed them in - especially on the 640-mile ride I did over the weekend.
I use to pass this place on my way to Langtry vineyards. There is a large amount of hub caps. What's that bar with the famous egg rolls did you stop there? Oummm... turtle rock?
You have the location right.
Didn't stop at a bar there on the way through, but every ride I take gives me reasons to return & ride the area again with more time to explore & stop for "local color."
D606 is what I have on my KLX250S. Great tire for a lighter dual sport!
this game is lame. come on folks really. Where's the California's Gold for fucks sake?
Some trolls have imagination, some a sense of humor, some are just angry people, and some are brilliant. They are irritating, but there is something of an entertainment value there.
Then there are those who are just dicks.
sticks and stones may break my bones but names will never hurt me.
