Not sure if this should be in Ride Reports or Day Trippin', so I'll toss it here. It wasn't a week of riding, but it was a week long trip.

It started Saturday the 16th in Denver, with a long haul drive straight through to Baker, CA, arriving at 3:15 am local on Sunday. A few hours of sleep (in the truck and trailer), and we were off to Dumont Dunes! After a few minor mishaps and a new chain from vendor row, we were off and running!

    The rides (my 350 exc, wentjo's 500 exc, and wentro's 300 xc):

After the day in Dumont, we headed to Red Mountain, CA to meet up some friends for the night and riding the next day. Had a blast, here are some pics:

The next day we drove to Redlands, CA and took the day off. Hit Chaparral and a few other places, etc. Tuesday morning we headed out early and went to Ocotillo Wells. Here's a few pic, I'll post a video I am working on later.

After the day in Ocotillo Wells, we packed up and drove to Wickenburg, AZ. We quickly put the tents up and listened to the coyotes howl all night. Again, with the pics...

A mine we found. We walked in a few feet and it smelled like death, and that was it, we were out.

The final day of riding, at Boulder OHV area, was the best. The desert was almost green from moisture, the hook-up was awesome, the dust, no existent. A day that would have been legendary, should I not have had a (now) minor mishap (more below).

    The mishap...

I toppled over in a wash, perfectly laying the bike down on one of the few rocks right in the clutch cover. It lost a lot of oil in the seconds it was on the ground, and in my book, not startable. Wentro produced a putty substance from his pack and Wentjo headed to the truck for oil. I pushed it over a mile back through a wash but had to stop at a bi-pass that went around a dried up waterfall.

Surprisingly enough the putty held the entire 17 miles back to the truck (with half a quart of oil added) and is still holding. We would probably still be in Wickenburg or on the road home without it.

If we had to do it over again, I think we would have go the other direction, hitting Wickenburg first. It would have been nice to hit the best terrain without 4 prior days of wear and tear on the body...

That is about all I can think of at the moment... Perhaps Wentjo or Wentro will chime in with some notes and thoughts. I'll post a few videos, let us know if you have questions.
