I'll be going on a little ride from VA Beach up towards the Gander Mountain Store in Richmond on Mon the 22nd. Be leaving VA Beach around 0800 and heading to Powhatan to have lunch at the Village Garden Cafe, then more back roads up to the Gander Mountain Store.

So far it's just me and one other but if there's some interest I can set up a meeting place and time.

I noticed the new Bass Pro there the other week when going through! Thought it was rather odd to have both so close.

We have a Bass pro here so the destination isn't really the reason but more the of the "excuse" for the ride.

    What's Greentop?

Greentop is a family run hunting and fishing store on rt-1. It's just down the street from Gander Mountain and it's been there longer than any of the other stores.

If you're going that way, the Islamadoro Fish Company at Bass Pro Shops is geeting rave reviews.

I took the family there a week ago. Very good eats and not very expensive.

Just saw this thread. You'll be less than 9 miles from my house at the Village Garden Cafe.

Had I seen it earlier, I'd have met you for lunch and a ride.

Be safe. Good back roads through Goochland, Louisa and Hanover to the GreenTop/Gander area.

This ride should have been called the "We bite off more than we could chew ride" or maybe "I bit off more than Tom could chew".:rofl :D :1drink :lol3 :eek1 Or even "Why would anyone do this sort of thing"? :eek1 :lol3  :clap :puke1 :evil :rofl :huh :1drink :D :norton

We never even made it to Gander Mountain:huh Pretty cold and VERY windy. Beautifull sun and really nice roads, just a little far in these conditions. Nine hours and 312.7 miles is enough.

I messed up, it wasn't 26F but it was close:
