North of Kaslo? Cooper CR-head of the lake do some beach camping if you can find a way in, Big Breakers if windy, camp a bit back from the shore line.
Trout lake/Lardeau river mouth good sites at the bridge and a big provincial camp site and great sites all along the river, the Gerard trout should be spawning and the river will be a mass of orange and red fish heading up stream

Sounds good. The plan is to head north of Kaslo, Popular Creek to Shelter Bay and then head south.

3 months late for the spawning Gerrard's and a couple weeks early for the Kokanee.

On the way down from Shelter Bay? Halfway River Hot Springs just reopened.Camping for $12.00/night,new pit toilets and a host to keep some order.BYOB.....and food, long way from a store.

Death? Not aware of anything recent.A few years ago someone did die.Bad shrooms.
Glad they are looking after the place, haven't been there in years.....too many yahoos, garbage and shit trails. And lots of Poison Ivy.....!

I think that next year they'll fix up the pools.Cleaning up the campsites, adding toilets etc...was the priority this year.
