Yep!! Don't recall a War of Western Aggression.
Cannonball website is finally back up and has yesterday's results posted. Unless they forced Doug into the truck shortly after the above pic was taken in Oak Harbor, OH I can't see how he only got 35 points for the day.
Saw Doug and the rest of the riders at Kutter H-D in Monroe, Wi. He still had water in the mag. Got it in the shop there and blew it out. He left for Anamosa around Two or so.
Got pictures on my phone, but i'm having a hard time getting them downloaded.
Yup...it was pretty early on, as he was having trouble with those wet electricals....
#88 should be able to smell dinner cooking from there!
He was in the truck before Wauseon.
When I chased them into Indiana, the only reason I caught them was because Doug and his driver were stopped to assist the other broke down bikes.
He's in Anamosa. The museum there is very very nice. Well worth a ride.
That's right about where JP Cycles is.
Museum's in town.
Dinner at the museum followed by dessert at JP?
Stolen from facebook...with this caption.
Strange choice of route, down hwy151. Don't say it's sweep truck once again? :huh
there is probably a large event at J&P cycle after the motorcycle museum stop.
I hope not...looks like they would have only been on the 151 for the last 30 miles or so...
That's why he's the man...helping others along the way.
you heading to Barber after the Cannonball?
From what I saw the only hotel/motel in the area was immediately south of JP.
Exactly. The guy that owns JP, the museum, and pretty much everything else in Anamosa built an AmericInn right across from JP. It's pretty deluxe for an AmericInn. Next closest hotel is down 151 in Marion/Cedar Rapids.
Today was pretty nice, no rain, not too hot, not a long killer day. But, every time I stopped, the bike wouldnt start until I pulled the magneto cap off & wiped the water out of it.
It just wont go away! So tonite, I drilled a drain/vent hole in the bottom of the damn thing.
We'll see how that works out tomorrow.
This morning, before we took off from the harley museum, I left em a little something....
There's a super nice state park campground just outside the city limits of Anamosa but it's on the other side of town from the action at P&Js.
