I think he is behind most of the riders, because he is stopping along the way to enjoy some of the sites and just enjoy his ride. He is taking some photos and seeing things that many of the guys are probably missing.

It's almost be a crime to ride though this area without stoppin once in a while to enjoy the country. Last time I was in that area I took over 1000 pix in 3 weeks :D

Still, it's a Henderson, and still it's a "way cool bike"! (Excelsior had purchased Henderson by the time that 4 cylinder was made, but still it was a Henderson.):evil

And they are on their way again, looks like a great day to be riding the California coast.
I am going to have to do some exploring out there. I wonder if there is somewhere in Northern California to rent adventure bikes?

Thanks, perfect, nice selection and just a few miles from Hwy 1!

Looks like they are headed down 254, staying off the highway as long as possible. :ricky

Of course Doug pitched in and helped a unlucky Darryl Richman, that lost grip in a curve and tumbled down a gorge about 20' down with his BMW. Darryl wasn't hurt much and the bike was retrived after some work by helpers and a truck.:clap

Darryl was pretty lucky. he went into the curve, and these BMW floorboards are rigid. the board scraped, picked up the rear wheel, & he & the bike went straight off the road. Had it not hung up on this tree about 20' down, it could have gone another 100' or so. The hillside was really loose shale/sand, it was hard to get it back up. He hurt his foot, and the bike had only a few scrapes & the handlebars are bent.
