Didn't know if anyone else has reported it yet, but there are some big changes going on in the Sage Rd. area in Wyoming. The road that runs from Rawings to the Battle Creek area is getting a wide make over for a HUGE windmill project. I talked to one of the dozer operators, and he said it will all be paved next summer. The road work is in progress all the way down to S.R. 70.

The one thing that bothers me most, is what I remember to be aspen ally may be a thing of the past... :cry Here are some pictures I took last week while riding through.

This is where they have cut some of the trees at one end of the ally...

It won't be long til this vastness will be filled with windmills...:huh

    Get it while you can...

I'm leaving for the CDR Friday and just wanted to confirm the most up to date tracks. I'm assuming it's Cannonshot, because his stuff seems to be the best.

I would appreciate any input or recent updates.

    Thanks,

    Kevin

They've all been helpful but Cannonshot's are pretty "load and go".

    cheers

Due to wedding obligations (daughter), myself and friend will be attempting this middle of September riding north to south. Anyone care to comment on what might be expected weather wise at this time?
    Cheers,
    Ron

For a general idea of what to expect - I usually refer to a web search for average temps / rain/ etc. Here's a site that may be of some assistance.

Realistically ... "Anything." But if you get an Indian summer it could be really, really nice.

Thanks for the link KOH. Looking at the history it may just be okay. But as you say Decodent, we need to expect anything. Counting down the days, gettin the kit and the bike ready and getting anxious.

Bryan - am getting my ducks in a row for my wife and I to finish off riding your tracks (Steamboat Lake to the border) in a few weeks. In looking at the tracks, I noticed a spot north of Grants, NM where a waypoint of "Possible Private Now". Has it been confirmed as private, or are we good to follow your tracks through that area? I tried to find other mention of it but evidently missed it in your ride report.

I don't remember the details of the discussion, but the easy way to avoid any issues is to follow the green go around.

Just stumbled across this thread! I need to do a thorough read-through, I'll be doing part of the TCAT and Part of the CDR! (beginning on Saturday)
Hopefully those gpx's are still available online!
