I've prodded ADpete about this one, he is currently attempting to amass frequent family miles so he can attend. Woose.

Is there a creek onsite? We could take turns demonstrating how well Harleys do the dog paddle......ADPete will dry it out after each test ride I'm sure.:evil

It's a straight ride from my place, the "adventure" component consists of dodging the local car "drivers" (I use the term driver very loosely when applied to the locals).

You and Fati fancy a decent coffee on the way?:D

    More info from the organisers.

Suggest you pre-pay and save a few dollars. We had to put entry up this
year because we now have to pay camping fees to the site managers.
Unfortunately there isn't a swimming hole. There is a shallow creek to
paddle in. It was flowing when we inspected the site last Tuesday, so
hopefully it won't have dried up by the time the rally rolls round. Fingers
    crossed! ;-)

    Hi,

    Happy New Year, All.

Having not been to this camping site before, can someone please advise if it is vehicle access to the camping ground :clap...or separate vehicle park and lug the gear in :cry ? I prefer the easy option :freaky of course.

Well...for me, I'll be riding the trusty F8GS. My son, however, is making noises about coming along & he doesn't ride (perhaps something to do with listening to my tales of creative 'offs) and wants to drive his car.
To capitalise on this eventuality, I could ride with zero load (other than my carcass) and pack everything in his car...including the huuuuge esky (full of course), as well as a few other comforts for a change. Besides, only being about 20 minutes from home packing his car, instead of squeezing everything onto the bike, saves a lot of stuffing around.

This is from the flyer: http://mraact.org.au/wp-content/uploads//2012/10/2013-Capital-Rally-Flyer-1.pdf

The route to the site is bitumen and there is a winding up hill and
down dale but easy stretch of dirt once you get onto farm property.

Might be a bit of a stroll with all your gear mate. Though shouldn't be an effort for a couple of fit buggers :lol3 Give em a call and ask fer details. Hope that was more help. :D

We've had a fair dump of rain on the South side tonight :clap, so the odds are increasing in favour of a flowing creek. Great lightning show too.

Was down at the site during the week scouting for some MTB and Obstacle races that a friend is running later in the year. The campground is really nice and access is easy. There is some dirt but its not too rough. The creek has some areas next to camp area you can sit in and get wet and it looks like a walk upstream may have some deeper holes. I could see some potentially better spots to swim but didn't go check depth.

We will probably drop out Sat night...

Being dirt bikes we are turning right at the top of the brown (mtn) and following our noises. no rush, just getting some different tracks under my L platers, belt.
