Not quite a face plant but........took my new bike to one of those power spray carwash towards the end of a 3k mi trip and used the brush :eek1 which left a bunch of swirls on the fairing and windshield! :eek1 it was prob not the brush but most likely dirt on the brush left from previous users
Oh well maybe just a heads up to fellow noobies like myself that the carwash brush is not your best friend

An expensive lesson, but yes... never use the soap brush or any contact drying equipment at the coin washes!

And never get the end of the high-pressure spray wand more than a foot close to the bike. NEVER ever point the wand within inches of any pivot point or seal area, unless you want to force water/detergent into pivot points, past seals, blow out the grease/lube, etc.

Just ride it dirty until you can get home and wash it correctly. A little dirt never really hurt a bike. If it did, I'd be in a world of trouble! :D A bike that's too clean is a sad bike.

I think it is one of those hard rains that knocks the bugs off of you and the bike. But it leaves the exhaust looking dull.

ohhh ya, dont ever use that brush on something you care about. Ive been burned by that as well. when I wash my car, I bring my own mitt and car wash soap.
FYI, if you're even in Koreatown, I use the car wash brush on Melrose near Vine to wash the mud and rocks off of my KTM
