    Best of luck CaribooBC.
I rode from Williams Lk to Lillooet, via Dog Ck and Big Bar ferry, yesterday (Tuesday). Smoke and wind weren't bad but it sure was hot.
This afternoon in Lillooet it's extremely windy, so I hope you're not getting this wind at your place.

All the best mate. I thought the local situation had died down a little. Silly me.

Looks like this is a continuation of the Loon Lake\ Pressy Lake fire ? Shit, hope all will work out for you and the Sheridan folks.

    Keep safe.

This is really ugly, we self evac'ed this evening. Even the Wildfire Service does not know exactly where this head of the fire is. As far as people on the ground can tell, it's very close to crossing Hwy#24, just west of Sheridan Lake

We were Evac' 2 x from North side of Green Lake.
This is what it looked like yesterday at 3.
Looking southeast from north side of Watch Lake. Our house is somewhere in all that smoke... IMG_8960.JPG

    Hi Cariboo.

Are you safe and sound ? Very worried about Sheridan tomorrow. All depends on the winds I guess.

Reading the 100 Mile FP for info, plus the Sheridan Beddowtree blog. Understand Hwy 24 is now closed Interlakes centre to the Fawn Lake access.

Quebec Airforce CL-415's over Sheridan yesterday :

Cool planes ! I hope they can keep the homes safe.

    Keep well.

We are safe and sound, now on full evac order. We are with family in the 108 Mile Ranch. We did get a chance to move all of our bikes and other prized possessions to safe storage before the order was issued. Now we wait to see what Mother Nature has in store for us, wish us well and thanks for thinking of us.

Dodged a bullet today. Huge windstorm blew the fire mostly away from my home, but it's hard to get real information on where the fire actually is. There are satellite fire detection systems, but it was so smoky today that it renders them useless. The fire did reach the south and west shores of Sheridan Lake today. Early reports are no structures lost. I still have an answering machine that picks up when I call home

Almost a week later and this beast has crept about another kilometre closer to my home. We have had pretty much no wind this week and it still cannot be contained. One windy day and it will take off again, hopefully we get the forecasted rain tomorrow and Saturday. It is about 5kms from my doorstep now.

5 km is really scary. Hoping this rain comes in a big way out there.

We had a little rain today, and it's much cooler. Tomorrow the wind comes back to blow the fire towards us again :(

    Hi C'boo

On the webcams seemed some fair amount of rain arrived along Hwy 24 - for today at least. Hope for more rain and that the fall temp drop will arrive soon.

The work of the fire crews is amazing, especially the protection of structures. Guess they are learning from Loon Lake events - let the fire do its thing and concentrate on properties. We owe them bigly.

If I may ask, what road are you on ? :wave

    Keep well.

We got about 3-5mm of rain. No where near enough. What is making things better is much cooler temperatures. We are truly starting into fall now. I live right on #24 about 9km east of LB.

We got more rain today, they are starting to release the heavy equipment from the fire lines. Temperatures have dropped considerably, its only 10C at 7:00pm. I am very optimistic that we may have seen the beginning of the end of this ordeal.

YAHOO!!!!! We are home. More rain and cold temperatures have turned the tide for us. We had very strong winds blowing the fire towards us the past two days, but the rain we had on Saturday and the cold temperatures did not allow the wind to fan the fire again. With the change of seasons for us, we are probably safe til next year:) The fire ended up less than 5 kms from my back door, way too close for comfort. We are getting more rain tonight and we are forecast for more tomorrow and Wednesday, with temperatures on Wednesday between 3C and a high of 10C.
