After being tempted a few months ago following the boys to "Flinders Classic IV", I was keen to explore the area NE of Burra in the South Australian midnorth, when Kevs69 (KTM640) said "let's do it". With BeenThere (BMW1150) joining us, we met 'locals' DustySnow (Dr650) & OrangeBob (KTM640) to show us more of their home turf ..................... errr! .... well ?... spectacular countryside at least :D

Our goal was to explore this:

Our meeting place was Marrabel. With Kev leading the way off the blacktop to save his new tyres, it wasn't long before our first 'adventure' be-friended us :eek1
That (335kg + bike & rider) wheel rut on the right is how long it took me to stop after I bailed out [IMG]

    easy stuff for some :lol3

He soon got his marching orders leading :deal ............................... "you're fired" :lol3
Along with the heavy (read slow :becca) "Marrabel Rodeo" traffic we were late, but with the thought of the Burra Bakery :dg it didn't take long to make up time.

    We begin the descent

Luckily the leading KTM boys stopped a couple of 4x4's starting their ascent up the steep, narrow, rocky, off camber track ahead of us

It was then easy riding to the beautiful, romantic Dare's Hill lookout where KTM's fall in love :raabia

................................. and talk about all things orange :lol3

............................. carrying on their affair on the plains :D

The Mt Bryan East historic school

with one of our group reliving his youth :nod

Apparantly this was a close resemblance to one of the teachers

By now we were keen to cleanse our throats in Burra :dutch

but not before a couple more obstacles to challenge us

We all made it in one piece ...................... just! :augie

    before parting ways

................ and the quick trip south on the winding, undulating, hard packed, smooth fabulous Tothill Belt Rd :rayof

Great day in the saddle :ricky (13hrs & 500 + kms) and every bit fantastic. :wings

    Thanks for the company lads.

    Let's do it again soon.

    Cheers

Thanks Kym. Those photos of yours emphasize what a top little area that is. Trouble is every man & his dog will be out there now.
    A very pleasant days ride.

Good one Kym, another top report, boy your getting a lot of riding in of late...lucky you

When Trev retires & I retire a few years later cause I'm so much younger I hope we can travel the state in search of the sun, dirt & general good times.

Sorry Trev. My mistake. That bike symbol on the entry sign looks so much like a Tenere 660 I thought they were being specific. On closer inspection I noticed it is doing a wheelie so its obviously not a Tenere 660.
