I like that solution. There is already a place for this on ADV, and its' region specific. http://www.advrider.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=42

However, I'm not sure how you attach the .GPX file, but when I look in the threads in the above I see others have figured it out. Larryboy, you have steps to attach a .GPX file?

EDIT: Okay, so I see it's the "Paperclip" icon when you make a new thread, you can attach files to it. So it sounds like you make a new thread called "Cascade Discovery Route" in Laying Down Tracks/PNW and attach the GPX file to that thread. Hmm. Might have to try that.

This looks very cool. Thanks for the work and sharing it with others! :clap Looks like ideas and help are lined up, but if there's anything a semi-geek can do, let me know.

Even though I have ridden this with Apple Jam, SuperD!, kilowatt and some others a few times I don't have all the tracks as the card filled up inn one day! I am not a geek at all! So ScottPDX if you can help me pull what tracks I have on to whatever site link thread etc. they can be there for everyone since Apple Jam said so. I have guarded all of this very closely as this was AJ's route! It is a very fun route, it's a bit tough for big bikes, but doable for a very skilled rider! Small bikes love this stuff and you will be happy in certain areas! Trust me:lol3

So Scott Or anyone else that can pull them from Garmin BaseCamp or the cards in the 62cxs I'll help out!

    Trust me!
Apple Jam was not so happy to follow me around three downed trees so after SuperD! and I pulled the BOP off Apple Jam and freed him from a Ktm burial ceremony, he was a bit more inclined to cut three more trees before carrying on!

Okay, here's a little section, uploaded to gobreadcrumbs.

    Detroit-SkylineRd_to_Humbug

and here's what it looks like if you try to search around Detroit Lake.

You can see the route, and some minimal info.

And here we click on the link, and see more details for this leg of the route.

You can see that you can download the GPX or Google Earth file, there are nearby tracks, elevation, speed, and distance info, and it looks like someone can leave comments, like "My butthole is still puckered from this route!"

Thank you for sharing this Jeff! I hope to ride some of this route with you sooner than later! :freaky

Meanwhile... I've got a GPSr and I can push buttons with the best of them! :evil
I'd be willing to ride out and mark the coords on the downed trees from this end. But I don't own a saw big enough to cut those big ol' ponderosa's. :deal

AJ, I used Laying Down Tracks section for adding GPX files to the Enterprise gathering thread over the last few years. This is how it turned out for me:
    http://www.advrider.com/forums/showpost.php?p=20112881&postcount=2

Since you are looking to make this available to ADV PNW, free & not learn new computer stuff this might work for you.

Clicking on the route name takes you to basic maps and photos along the route. Below that is a link that take you to Laying Down Tracks where the GPX file can be downloaded.

The way I did it might be more cumbersome than you are looking for but it gives you an idea of one way to accomplish what you are looking for.

You could start a new clean thread and use the first post for the route. Maybe save the second post for yourself for updates if you want to do that. After you have it set up the rest of the thread could be used for folks that have ridden the route to tell their tales and add update if they found changes like roads now closed.

Of course it wouldn't be as professional as what Butler Maps, Grip Twister, etc. have done but since you are offering it free who could complain. :D

I've supplied all my tracks to circusinthesky that I had from a few rides this summer between 22 and 26. I'm curious to see the remainder of the route and how it all comes together.

Here are some pics of Breitenbush and Olallie lake. This should be an epic route for us folks stuck out here on the wet side of the state.

This is good so far. I'll upload the rest of these tracks from sprocket probably tomorrow. That'll give us a great consolidated visual of what is missing, or what alternate routes are available.

Once we have a complete route, I can join the legs together to create a "whole route" option to download. So, there'd be the whole route, and also the individual legs (which would be easier to edit).

I just need the rest of the route at this point.

With the snow levels the way they are, you might be able to get to them right now! It's possible one of the snow mo clubs may have already taken care of them.

I uploaded those additional tracks sprocket3. Once we have more, I can join them, so that we can see a complete track, versus just smaller portions. (And this is just a trial. I'll re-add these with better naming, info, etc once I have more data.)

Awesome. Thanks for doing that. Needing sections from Detroit area to Big Lake and Hood River to highway 26. I think AJ has these.

Wasn't there a ride report on Portland to Bend on dirt last summer that had some of this? Anyone got it?
