My grandfather and grandmother were guests at that place back when it looked like it did in the pics in the ad.

It will be interesting to see what happens here. I wonder how many millions it would take to bring it up to code so they could host guests again.

There is a "Group" from Wickenburg that is very interested.
However I understand it is really dilapidated. Toured the facility several years ago. Took a friend who was once a Horse Wrangler there, back when they were acting as a Guest Ranch. The caretaker let us walk around just to hear his old stories.
    We'll see what happens.

Would be great to see it open up again. We always take first time visitors out that way and they are amaized to see it in the middle of no where.

    JFK evidently loved the place!:lol3
He described the food as, “…. just fair. You can have all you want for thirty bucks a day…but, if I stay here very long, I’m going to end up my life scratching a beggar’s ass.”
He also wrote,“I don’t mean it in a derogatory sense….it’s just that Castle Hot Springs is where self-panickers come to die.”

Something funny going on with the edit feature today...

Do you suppose it takes most of that 180,000 gallons to keep all that grass green? That's a lot of water and I don't see any runoff into the wash.

A secluded desert resort that entertained many of the country’s wealthiest families has been sold in an auction of the Castle Hot Springs resort.
The 210-acre property northwest of Lake Pleasant was sold for nearly $2 million. CBRE, the company that managed the auction last month, said the Delaware-based company CHS3 purchased the century-old resort.
In the late 1800s, Castle Hot Springs became a secluded getaway for people with tuberculosis and later a private vacation spot for the wealthy. The property has remained closed since the resort’s hotel burned down in 1976.
A previous attempt to sell the land for $6 million failed. CBRE said the new owner has plans to redevelop the property.

:huh Well, I guess it's going to be someones treasure in the desert. I don't see this ever happening though. Now we will have to obey the speed limits in the wash leading up to the "resort".

I seen that, so I guess it's a bargain looking at it that way. It probably has a gold mine right under it that no one is aware of also...........

The gold mine is in the potential cash flow that a resort could bring in.

This could mean about anything. maybe a golf course and condos or a new hotel with the hot springs as the big draw. Either way it is going to cost a lot!

They would probably pave the road in so all the beemers can drive right up.

I would love to get a tour before it changes into whatever. Then again it could sit another decade and then be resold.
