Would any of you be interested in camping at Sequest State Park August 15th and going to the Castle Rock Flat track race?

Maybe we can start a discussion about it here and if there is some interest we can put a campout and Race weekend together.

    Road Rash? :kumbaya

I'll probably be in Montanna around then, but next year my place at Vader should be able to handle 20-30 people, for future planning.

There is a new secluded park in Vader (Little Falls) with no facilities, but maybe free camping. Hondadude (John) works for the city and will know.
Vader is 8 miles away from the track :nod

This is a good video. Mostly racing and a few crashes.

I have been going to Castle Rock for over 20 years. You will want to spend the night at the race track. Last year a band started right after the race which ended around 11pm. They stay up for hours. They like to set off sticks of dine-o-mite too. It's easy to pick a place to camp after the race and people are leaving the parking lot. It will be hard to find a place to pitch a tent unless you get there early.
I make a ride out of this event my buds named mountian man festival of curves. You don't know what to look at, the mountians or the road. I get up early Sunday and ride north thru Mt. Rainer and cut south thru the woods coming out at Hood River. I live in the Corvallis area so to add more woods riding I take Skyline south to Britenbush to Detroit and down the Quartzville / Yellowbottom to Sweethome. That is a day of riding you will not soon forget.
Sammy Halbert is a local who is doing great and got his first GNC Twins win in Tennessee June 20. His dad rides the black dog and I shared a lunch table with him at Trout Lake. Nice guy with a cool converted school bus named the Cool Bus.

I've been wanting to do this for a few years now. Let me sit on the fence for a while and think about it.

Hmm, sounds like a blast........but I'm keeping early and mid August open right now as that is usually when we head down to the dunes.

If we don't go that weekend, I'd be up for it :freaky

I'm going to get some information on camping tomorrow and I will post it as there seems to be several that would like to do this.

I'm pretty sure we can scout an area and camp for free right on the river just a few miles from the race.
The other options are Sequest State Park that I will need to check availability, also an RV Park close by.

I'll post up what I find tomorrow.
