The Ram mount would not work with an S7e with the Otterbox Defender, so I cut off the upper claws and added a plate with new metal claws. Works well so far, but I'm still tweaking things like the charger cable, etc.

Just ordered the Perfect Squeeze! Tried the X-grip and wasn't happy.
Going to be mounting a Note 4 in it.
    Fingers crossed.

fullsizeoutput_1b2d.jpeg I was ready to order the Perfect Squeeze, currently use the original X mount which really works fine. But went to garage parts drawer and came up with this using the parts I had. I added the rubber band thingy for little more security and put it around the adjustment screw to reduce any chance it would work loose. Loctitte on the ram mount screw.
the iPhone mount was from Bestbuy for a few dollars.

No waterproof case for me, just a simple spigen to give minor protection. I thought about trimming down the top and bottom tabs but went for the perfect squeeze and gave the other to my neighbor. As someone else stated once you get the perfect squeeze you won't look back. It's a minimalist approach of astonishing quality

I'm not sure if anyone already mentioned it, RAM makes a specific mount just for the iphone 6 (I'm running it), got rear ended by a drunk driver, phone was securely in place when I picked up the bike.

Yep I'm using this as well, and if my S7 Active were _any_ taller I would not be able to get it in there. With any sort of case/cover? Forget it.

I wish they'd update this mount to fit taller phones...it's my favorite design out of any I've used or seen.

EDIT: meant to ask, re: the Perfect Squeeze. I need to mount my phone in a vertical orientation. Is there any issue with this? All of the pictures are horizontal.

    Thanks.
