It is now; wasn't last week. Nothin but dirt hard as rock.
Haven't needed to pay attention to where I set my stand for a couple years now.

One o'them bigfoot things woulda just made it harder to extract.
Reset with my custom carbon fiber sidestand thing. Made by a pal from genuine scrap. And there was no damage whatsoever. I consider myself lucky to have bought my 950 when I did, back in 2004. Never ridden a machine that was so committed to stayin up and doin right.

Oh, that house in the country you're lookin for that's 15 minutes outta town.. you're about 30 years too late, bud. But welcome to town!

Well this is the big KTM, and the side stand is a fine stout thing that has been known to crack the crankcase instead of breaking off. It's always something, eh?

Before the little KTMs had flimsy sidestands, they had none at all.

Is this the tread for a BBQ question?:D..I should be passing through Glen Rose in a few days. Is the Loco open during the week? The last time I stopped by on a Friday and it was closed.:cry

They open Thur and Fri night's around five.

Other times during the week hammonds is probably your best bet. Ranch house has a good chicken fried steak and pie. Good pie but mediocre Q imo.

I think I will be passing through on Wed. but not sure. I'll stop at Hard 8 again or Hammonds. I like them both. I'll be driving through Llano too but am not a big fan of Coopers Q. Thanks

Hard 8 is your best bet. I live about 45 miles away, when do you plan on being there? Hammonds is not that great in my opinion. Besides they just took the Hammond name. The real Hammond's run Loco Coyote, which was just sold recently.

Chipotle potato salad at Ranch House is real good and I like their steaks better than Q. Their Q has been very dry but well seasoned.

My three week BBQ/wildflower tour of the hill country is winding down. I stopped at Hard 8 in Stephenville twice, Rudys in Leon Springs three times, at the inlaws one time and BBQ in a box from HEB once......Hard 8 won the rib catagory just edging out Rudys. Hard 8 has better sausage than Rudys but Rudys has way better chicken and turkey. Rudys creme corn is a little better than Hard 8s and thats saying alot. The beans at Hard 8 are world class, only the beans at Mama Lees in S.A. even comes close. The inlaws in Hondo make the most and therefore the best brisket in Texas. You can't beat all you can eat for free. I won't even mention the BBQ from HEB again it was so bad.:puke1.......The wildflowers are the best between Fredericksburg and Comanche along 16. Excellent flowers at the north end of the Willow City Loop but the best wildflowers are between Comanche and Colorado Bend.:thumbup.....Great trip with good weather. The only thing that would make it better would be a motorcycle.:cry

I made one last pilgrimage to Loco Coyote before the Hammonds hand the reins over to the new owners tomorrow. Needless to say it is a party here today with 9+ ribs and live music!!!!

I've been by two times and both times they were closed. Dang!:cry...Hopefully the new guys won't change anything. A ping pong table like at the Cove would be a nice addition.:D

Currently, they are open Thurs-Fri 5-9, Sat 12-10???, Sunday 11-3...they sometimes extend hours if having a live event. I know the new owners have expressed interest in expanding the hours, guess we will see:1drink

LC will never be the same. I do not see us going very often now. But then again, Tom has bailed in the past only to re-surface with a new place. This may be his last rodeo though as he is pretty burnt out.

Hope he enjoys some time in Galveston. He deserves a nice long rest. Regardless, thanks for many great meals over the years.

Yeah, I got there early and we talked about that back in the kitchen. This will be the third time he has sold. His son plans to get into the business and is already catering. I think Tom is done. He is ready for a break. I hope you are wrong Fototex, but I have seen changes like this before and most did not end well. Tom and Linda will stay 60 days to train the new owners. Most if the staff are staying so we shall see... I really enjoyed spending time with Tom around his pit and kitchen. He does his ribs similar to mine. Guess that is why I love them, great ribs without the work :deal

Has anyone tried Loco Coyote since Tom sold it. How is the food?? I am reluctant to go give it a try. It will never be the same, after eating there for so long, I might just find a new place.

While this may be the finest eats anywhere, why is a restaurant in Central Arkansas listed in the Central Texas thread? :dunno
