I'm not sure which threads you follow, but ghostrider1964 is having his annual "Spring Fling" at the Ghost ranch next weekend, and everybody is always welcome. There's a thread for it in the forum. Good people, food, trails and county roads a plenty. I'll be cutting more trails this week and cleaning up existing. We're trying to get a headcount, so post on the thread, if you're able to make it. Let others know as well. Already talked to bigdave-gs and he's in for Snow's. Looking forward to it!!!

Thanks for the tip. My kiddo has a baseball tournament, but it might be possible to do Saturday night. I'll look into it.

Pac - Man i so appreciate the invite. Im not going to be able to make this trip bro. I so look forward to being able to ride with you in the near future. I , unfortunately , have to have much more prep time ahead, I'm a single father of 3 and i would need to get decent accommodations for my children to enable me to get away for a couple of days. Also I'd like to log a couple hundred miles before i set off on tourist ride. I do look forward to it. I'm making the necessary medications as we speak. Slowly but surely getting my bike prepared for a long ride. Im stoked about it bro! Keep you guys in prayer. Be safe and have fun.

I am without a doubt ready to roll on a more local trip... so whenever you plan something within DFW hit me up; I've got this Thread on watch so Jus let me know, even if you wanna hook up on a weekend and go grab some coffee and just ride around. I'm trying to learn my way around and now really familiar with good riding around this area. I"m in the Arlington / Pantego area so whenever and whoever's ready just hit me up!

I had a f700gs as my first bike. Loved it, but wanted more. It does just fine on long rides. The rotax motor in those is bulletproof. Look up an AF-xied fuel module for it. It'll smooth out the throttle a bit and make it run a little cooler for longer highway stints. Stock they're tuned to run very lean.

But more importantly will it make the brisket more tender?

My Wunderground shows rain all day Saturday...I rode the GS to work today, with the intentions of making the run, but I might be a little more skeptical than you.

Yeah the chance is there, but from 6am to 4pm the highest it gets is 15%. After that all bets are off, and I plan to be home.

    Hope to see you!

I was willing to attempt to beat the weather and make the ride, but I've been running calls all day and it looks like I will be all night as well. Possibility of rain, no sleep and several miles of road don't sound like a wise decision at this point. I wish I could make it and look forward to getting together in the future. Hope you enjoy the Q and roads.

So it was an all-slab day for us, due to the threat of weather, but we had a great time none-the-less.

We had 4 riders for this quest. From left to right: Dahveed, Shane (not an inmate), his friend (not an inmate), and Paul, (not sure if an inmate, but is on TWTex).

A few pictures from around the joint. For those who have watched videos and seen news photos about Snow's will recognize this place. Not much to look at, but pretty famous around these parts.

Me and Miss Tootsie. She had been greeting and talking to people the whole time we were there, but she was as warm and friendly to me as a long-time friend. We chatted about the weather and the brisket for a couple of minutes, then it was selfie time.

Had a great time, the brisket and jalapeno sausage were excellent, the pork ribs were average. Someone else had pork shoulder and said it was great. All in all, well worth the ride, and glad to have checked it off my bucket list.

Dont waste your time at Smittys in Jasper - it's edible but thats about it. There is a joint in San Augustine right on 96 that I wanted to stop at but never did, Watts and Watts is the name,
