I see a lot of North Alabama riders, and a few down on the Coast on Advrider. I however wanted to place this thread here for those of us who live in the open plains of Alabama.

This thread is for those of us not lucky enough to live in chicane heaven, or the Blue Ridge mountains, but don't mind the miles in the saddle it takes to get there. It's for those crazy bikers who ride 5 over the speed limit, take corners by their apex, and wear the same pair of pants to every ride.

If you ride dirt, then perfect. If you ride pavement, then cool. If you ride bitch, well more power to you. This is the place for you. There's no brand awareness here, could care less what you throw your legs over, so long as you crank it and ride it.

I look forward to riding adventures with you good folks, as I have in the past.

I'll start of with the intro. My name is Day tripper. Anytime I can get away I take day trips to Barber Motorsports in Birmingham and shred 25. I like long trips and camping off the bike. I'm a fan of road racing (the Irish form) and don't like to sit too long on one spot. I enjoy taking an otherwise perfectly good street machine and getting lost on rough back country dirt roads

I'm from Ireland, living in Birmingham now and riding an 07 R1200 GSA.

Took a trip to Talladega today

It would be great to meet some more central AL riders.

Hey guys! Talladega is a favorite spot of mine in Al. The skyway is a great spot for camping and dirt riding. I was there just last Saturday. I have some family events this weekend that I can't pass up, but next weekend I'll be riding somewhere for sure. I'm a bit random but if I ever say "I'm in" you can bet your life on it.
The wife and I are actually going to Ireland for two weeks in May to watch the NW200. It's been a long time coming. Thanks for checking in!

Feel free to PM me about your trip if you want, I use to live in Portstewart (one of the towns the NW200 runs through) and worked in tourism in the area for a while. I love road racing, the NW200 will be a blast.... I hope you get good weather for it!

My schedule is open March 10th-12th. May be able to do an overnighter in Talladega, or further north near Little River Canyon. Theres a really curvy stretch of asphalt due west of Cheaha mountain that I like to ride this time of the year on the way to LRC. I'm sure y'all have some secret stretches hidden away to add to.
If I go all the way to LRC, I'll be camping out for sure. If it's below 45F°, then I'll probably stay around the Talladega, Leeds area and camp out somewhere on the skyway.

Cool, nice to see some folks in Alabama posting up some rides.
I was over in Talladega on Monday, rode up the pig trail, then north on the Skyway to FS 500 and explored some of the roads off of it.

There's a ride being planned your general direction for the end of the month.

Left my house this morning about an hour early to take a ride on my way to the shop. Came upon a blind crest, and when I topped the hill a bald eagle launched off of a carcass. He looked to be a healthy adult and was a magnificent sight. I could have reached out and touched him we were so close to one another. Such a good day for riding in Bama!

I live in Birmingham and ride dirt, street and ds. Travel to the Blue Ridge often. Camping is good with me. Looking to haul the exc up to Tellico this year and maybe a ride somewhere in WNC. Maybe some travel up that way on the S10. Hope to get together with y'all to ride.

I'm up for it! CEO requires a return on Sat night for Easter. I may haul the bike in the truck for dirt or ride the ST on Wed after work. Will you camp or cabin?

I got the last cabin for my wife and I.
Planning on riding the old GS up Friday and returning Sunday.
Looks like there's a group riding up Thursday, so there should be plenty of folks to ride with.
