I understand about needing a governing body, but they simply wasted our money fighting helmet laws instead of using it to keep trails open! I don't really see the difference between being required to wear a helmet or having to wear a seat belt.... That argument has been beaten to death, but the principal is there!

I was with the Texarkana Dirt Riders and ADR helped us with this event. We had to go back up to Nimrod and clean the highway everyone was riding down to satisfy the sheriffs department and AR DOT.

When we put on the Bear Creek Hare Scramble, Roger Ansel was there and he didn't have a problem with the dead engine requirement, but we didn't have anyone break the rule. You have to play by the COE rules if you want to play on their property. Like yourself I am also a life member, but it doesn't make me like the profound waste of members money any better.

I have toying with putting on a dual sport in the Glenwood/HotSprings area. I live there part time and know the majority of the roads and trails pretty well.

I'm ready and will bring friends. With some advance notice I will be glad to scout routes also.

If you do let me know I've done some riding down there would be happy to help do some scouting pre riding etc. Some of my favorite riding in the state

I'd be real interested in that plan.
I'd like to ride something south of I-40 (besides wolfpen gap for a change).

I would like to ride a dual sport ride in that area if you decide to put one on.

Bear Creek was planned for our September Camp/n/Ride but our connection with the marina owner at The Landing whose property we were planning on riding thru on had other plans so it didn't happen. Might see if we can't get to know him and make some arrangements for next years ride.

South of I-40 makes a huge difference in travel time for us TX guys, especially on the trip home for those working stiffs. There are a lot of us TEXANS who love riding in AR.

......or maybe that guy will actually ride again.

I’m thinking next spring we may set something up before things get crazy. September and October have to many other conflicts for me. Maybe we switch the Mena time to September and do Bear Creek in spring.

Yeh! That might work! Early next year we need to get our heads together and figure out the schedule for 2018.

Just looked and can't find one. It started as a BMW MOA event long ago. Now it's just a bunch of guys mostly camping at Gulpha Gorge after riding. They send me emails after I attended 15 or more years ago.
There was a mention of gravel roads on the email I got yesterday. Responded to the link. Several of them are riding CRF250 up from LA on Friday 11/3. I'm going to meet them Sat morning for a day of easy dirt roads.

8:15am leaving the rodeway inn on grand(hwy70). In between magic springs and Spring St.
When I've ridden with this bunch in the past it has been retired guys, laid back, slow. Never done the gravel side of things with them.

    Thanks
Is this more of a smaller 250 - 350 enduro or 650 thumper ride?
I’ve got a Husky FE 350 and a BMW G650GS didn’t know would be more suitable?

I'm riding my xr650l. I'm really doubting there will be any tough terrain. Probably all gravel roads. My 650 can idle along pretty slow.

It was a foggy morning but the leaves were beautiful. Easy ride with CRF250, F800, and one Ural.
Mr. D. and Nordic-wish you guys could have made it.

The only d/s bike I've got right now is a tw200 and that's my son's daily ride. Been riding a lot of Arkansas highways on my CB though. Hopefully I can get a used Dr or klr pretty soon. Glad y'all had a good ride.

The TW and you would have fit right in. Wish you could have been there.

I understand the back and forth between street and dirt. Next weekend our chaperone will be elsewhere. Two up on the Triumph unless wx is terrible.
