I should have gone - the weather had me spooked.
    Any pics of the ride?

I learned at the ride that inmate Dave-O has passed away. It was not a surprise. He told me he was stage 4 last time I saw him and he did not look well. I haven't been able to get him on the phone for a long time.
If you ever saw a grey haired guy on a ural with a huge dog in the sidecar-that was Dave.

I don't know how much family he had. His wife died a year or two ago. He never mentioned any children.
He was a unique person, very fun to talk to. The last time I saw him in person he made a point of paying for lunch. The time before that I'd bought him lunch. I guess he wanted to make sure he owed nobody nothing. He honestly looked terrible that day. He was in good spirits and said in spite of his stage 4 diagnoses he had no regrets.
Please, everyone, quit smoking. Don't start smoking. Beat your children if they smell like cigarettes. That would piss Dave off, but it is how I see it. He was only 57.
Who wound up with Dave's Ural? It was as unique as he was. Handmade levers for the reverse and 2WD. Handmade exhaust. He upgraded it from 650 to 750.
Who wound up with Dave's dog? Big smart bitch.

A very long time ago I raced in the woods. I was never the state champ. Never even raced the AA class. I did okay and have some trophies. Dave contacted me online. I always do my first ride with people I don't know on very easy gravel roads. Dave was able to put that Ural in places a lot of B class hare scrambles racers would struggle to put a pure dirt bike.

    I’m still interested in riding

Do most of my riding in the Ouachitas
Had a TW200, but recently sold it and purchased the Husky FE350

I also have a G650GS Sertao for longer dual sport rides

I'm off the first few days of next week.
    My schedule is pretty odd.

How'd all. Stopping by to nose around some. I've been wanting to come do so riding for a while now. But just haven't made it yet. Maybe this winter I'll try again to get out of the winter here in Pennsylvania.

Looking forward to seeing some ride ideas.

    Peace

A question for you folks in Arkansas. I went to visit family in Ouachita County this past week. I wanted to scout some of the "TART" route for future riding. I found several roads with swing gates locked. The county maps show these as public county roads. I asked an old forester I know about this. He said lawyers had advised people to block/lock roads. Which sounds like typical lawyer speak. Most gates could be ridden around. Is this normal? Do you drive around gates blocking public roads?

I hope everyone is out killing deer right now. Hit one in my car going to work last night.
These newer cars. The entire front bumper has to come off to replace the headlight assembly.
The truck is going to be my wheels for a week or so, until I get the time to do this silly thing.
