Thanks God you are OK, you got us worried.
After watching your pictures I have urge to go there.
Thats my next trip!
What you think can a Honda Varadero do it?
Im waiting the end for the total spend of your trip!
when i was in KAZ i ran out of fuel.. totally.. it took me just couple moments to find someone who surprisingly carried a lot of benzin even though he drove a diesel car..
Zandesiro: you can do it on a chopper ;-) no problem on a varadero..
now another story full of sulfur..
so i am in russia.. i went to the city, found a bank and want to exchange KAZ money to rubels.. lady said "we don't exchange tenge, only usd or euro".. i went to another bank: "we don't exchange tenge"..
i ask her where can i exchange my tenge? "i don't know, only in Mockba" :eek1
wtf?! so i have my money to come back home in currency that no one wants to accept here..
i told my heart touching story to a mechanic (what a stupid idea) that i met on the road.. he said "you see this market? talk to its owner, he visits KAZ very often"
so couple moments later i had my wallet full of rubels ;-)
a bit cold sometimes..
i ran out of antykoltunator..
i was lucky i found one in saratov ;-) it was expensive though
and i finally changed my oil.. don't ask me when was last oil change i suck at life
Good to hear that you are in one piece
Im suprised by yours E7, they still look good.
Im a owner of a 98/ xt now so thx for an idea!!!
Greatings from Diana.
yeuope, jsi pankáč, dobrá práce
when i was in murgab (TJK) i had a pleasure to meet Marta and Bartek from Poland.. these guys are really famous travellers in Poland.. i hope to see their RR here on adv..
ok, now back to the story..
i chose the shortest way through russia.. it's a nice ride, a bit cold though..
my new love..
entering Ukraine means no good weather for the first hundreds km..
when I was not really far away from polish border weather got better.. so i slowed down as i understood this actually is the end of this trip..
i visited city of Rivne, quite nice i must say..
during last days of the trip i started eating like a human.. i ordered full wypas lunch in this kafe and it costed maybe 4 usd????
then it again starts raining like shit.. and then.. miracle!! there's sun!! it's a really nice reward after this rains in last days..
so i bought a juice and had a deja vu..
using my touratech gps holder again ;-) it's a sulfur - so i've been to tajikistan without using gps (and barely using maps ) but i can't find my brother's flat in cracow ;-)
anyway, the trip is almost over.. i came to cracow two days ago in the evening to meet my brother and his soon-to-be wife.. will spend here a few days.. until their fridge is empty ;-)
then last km home and that's the end of the story..
Can you draw map of your route?
I am in Cieszyn now, this trip is over. I arrived two days ago at night.
During those 7 weeks my XT collected 16430km on the odometer.
There were 3 days w/o riding when I was in Cracow.
The very last day odometer turned to 150000km
WTF!! socks and sandals? ..... shame on you
I'm glad you're back
Hi Yeuop. Congrats for your trip. Since next year i planed similar...and according, that you say your trip is low budget...if it is not a secret...how much actually cost you these trip (only a trip..means fuel, sleeping, eating etc)Thx in advance!
It's not a secret at all.
The trip itself costed around 1000usd. It includes fuel, food, hundreds of russian snickers, one ile change, some small road taxes, one fine for speeding, some internet kafes etc. Sleeping was always free of charge - not a single night spent in a hotel.
Now I think maybe I could have done that for smaller money but you need to eat some snickers to keep fit.....
So after all 1000 usd sounds good to me - after all it was 7 weeks and over 16k km.
