Cough! Cough! Man, that was my line!
BB, Just rode down your way with Chuck, Dan and Steve. Steve put together a route across southern Illinois and sw MO. I could only do the 1st day of a 8 day ride.

The PEORIA TT was canceled today, but will move to July 14th' Pick out some tracks and ride up for a day of TT racing. Ride up Saturday, we may have trials that day, Racing on Sunday.

Those guys are hard core for sure. I know when we rode the TAT I had my reservations. Bu they rode those bikes into the ground. Did Chuck replace the 640 or just spruce it up? It was pretty knackered at the end of the TAT.

    I'll think about Peoria.

    Thanks

Yes, he has the 640, but both he and Dan bought DR650's. They like them, but all three want 690's. Gene meet us in Shelbyville Friday morning. I rode back home and the four of them rode on into the sunrise. Later, I was pulled over by state cops. They thought, since I was on a moto, I must be a bad guy. It was very strange. The day ended for me with running out of gas and meeting another cop.

I got pulled over on my 690 once as well. The guy looked at my tag and told me to go on.

I bet you can buy three DRs for the price of a new 690. They were cheap when we bought ours. They ain't no more.

Met a guy in MI that has a 690 Rally Factory Replica. Also Mark, one of Radeks buddies, he had a Yamaha 450 Rally bike he got from Jonah Street. That bike was a head turner for sure.

Don't let vfrpilot use you for bear bait. I,m leaving for Birmingham Thursday to watch the AMA races and see the Motorcycle museum.

I think the proper perspective of this KTM would be with the front wheel extended high in the air.. Gary has arranged 12 rear tire exchanges along the route. They'll be waiting for us like a Indy Car Pit Stop... The kid can ride!

So I was bored at work and went searching for dual-sport events to attend in the sort-of local area.

The oakley dirt-riders charity hare scramble June 30th, flyer can be found here. I'll most likely be attending and trying to haul my pig around in the newbie class.

Several events within 2-3hrs with the Chicagoland Dualsport Riders can be found here.

One coming up this weekend starting up around Matthews, IN. Afraid I'll have to miss it to hit up the Indiana Rallycross event at the Badlands.

You'll see me at the Fox Valley Offroad Overnighter III on july 13th, sounds like a blast.

Also, last weekend I went up to chicago to check out the Mods Vs. Rockers vintage bike/scooter show. When I found out it was the same price to spectate as it was to enter a bike, you better believe this happened:

Suffice to say I did not win the vintage japanese class, haha.

I did have one dual-sport comrade at the show:

As I was leaving on Sunday, my carbs decided that they wanted to dump fuel everywhere instead of metering their fuel intake. Those gluttons.

Cue up 3 hours of this, trying to figure out why the float wasn't working correctly:

Turned out to be pieces of RTV stuck in the needle mechanism for the float. How the hell that got in there, I've no idea. But, it was fixed. And I got very proficient at stripping the bike down and pulling the carbs, heh. Good times!
