Well, the bike is more ready than the rider to hit the trails. Maybe I shouldn’t say “hit” the trails. Okay, the KLX is more ready for off-roading than I am.

Got the GPS ready as well. Downloaded the Loose Nut and River to River tracks just in case this weather ever decides to cooperate.

^^^^^^ looks like you carry spares on the front fender, my kind of guy on the trail.

I have a renthal pad you can have to spruce up the cockpit, you feel like a factory racer.

Saturday is looking a little better.

Good farkles. You'll be ready for tat or a bdr in no time. I see folding mirrors in your future.

I have see some of the folding mirrors before. They would be a good addition.

Renthal Pad? Make me go faster......................to the ER prob. The fact that every manufacturer puts a pad there is concerning. They wouldn't do it unless there was a good chance you are gonna hit it!

Very nice Cav47. I have not made it back over to Kawtown to look at the other K. And still thinking about an XT250, or if it is a want, or need. Saw you on other threads, so you are serious about off pavement. Good on you! Maybe I will just put some off road skins on my CB500X?

Thanks. I am looking forward to getting out there and trying the DS life. I guess I am serious. Well at least as much as I can be at this point. Considering as little as I know. I am going to be practicing at the ATV park in Tilton. Others have told me not every trail has that much mud.

Thursday the weather looks good, so I could easily be up there in the afternoon. It’s only about 15 min from here on the KLX.
Let me know if you are up to a tag along.

I am hearing that a bunch of the Forest Roads are closed until May something? The plan this weekend, weather permitting is to head over to St. Joe state park and ride with my friend RJAMT. The bike in my avatar(I need to change that BTW) was bought from him last year. We went the GS route and is going to introduce me to Dirt riding. He knows my lack of skills and is gonna be gentle with me! Missouri has a little less mud as well. Might save me some embarrassment.

The plan is to meet up Saturday morning and ride over there both Sat and Sunday. Head home on Sunday.

I heard almost all of the sand area is closed. That is some fun riding. I was a bit apprehensive about the lead dust.

Can you ride the Badlands ? Or will the Jeeps and ATVs run over you?
