Woo Hoo! My first tag-o-rama post!

The last time I was out to Middleton's it was a dirt road all the way from SR60 so I didn't want to take the big bike. I finally got the KLR where I want it and used this tag to do a good shakedown ride.

    Here is my replacement:

I live in Winter Haven, and love riding Camp Mack Rd...so I went there yesterday, in hopes of finding these particular signs. I rode it twice, and while I found two arrow signs such as those, I couldn't find those exact two (angle off, no fence behind them, etc.) Are you sure it's on Camp Mack Rd itself, or maybe another road? XD.

I know there are probably a lot of threads on the subject, but can't check the 100+ pages and it's easier to ask.
I am thinking about riding the Ocala NF area, coming from Ft Lauderdale.
Thanks for the suggested ride on the ole lady, been there, done that many times and will not post any ride report on the subject!:lol3

Ocala National Forest will be kind of boring on the GS, IMO. Almost every road that is suitable for that bike (not deep sand) is straight as an arrow. If you must ride around out there, try FR46 (Old FR 10) Come in from 19 and head West on 46. Then turn on 33, don't go any farther west or you will be in deep shit!

You should hook up with the South Flatistan crew in here, they do a lot of levy riding and such down there. And they do a lot of camping trips out of the area. :deal

Over here on the Spacecoast, these are fairly common. But it caught me by surprise rolling though the forest!

Did you stop in at the Scrub and meet some inmates? You were across the street from them.:ear

To be honest, I'm not exactly sure what The Scrub is... or where... (though I guess I know "where" now :lol2)

But I did see someone on a red V-Strom on another stretch of road south of Ocala and wondered if it might have been an inmate. :ricky

Sure are some beautiful roads over there. While I'm sure I missed a lot sticking to pavement, it was still well worth the trip. I hope to get it written up this week in Day Trippin'. :thumb

There is a good chance that was me. Did it have gray Pelican cases on the sides?

You should have grabbed the Summit III gate tag too, nice roads on that side of Ocala as well. :deal

    TAG!!!

I'll have the new one up in the next post.

As an aside...I cannot believe I missed this for so long. I guess I've been hanging out in Jo Mamma too much. :lol3

    Thanks, Sharon. :thumb

This is fun stuff. Although in reading through the thread, there have been a few places that would have been very difficult for me and a 700lb FJR to get to. :lol3

A 700# bike makes it more fun!

You'd get tons of cred if you got this one: :lol3

No. In looking back through some of the pictures you've posted here, I don't think it was you. This guy didn't have a top box and the bags weren't Pelican cases... Would have been pretty cool if it was though! :ricky

I did look for the Summit III gate for a little while. But I only had a vague notion of where it might be based on one realtor's ad that mentioned a house for sale located "in the Summit III subdivision". :dunno My Google skills have been weak lately.

Saw some pretty roads though, and some real pretty gates too. Nice countryside out there... :thumb

Um....I'll take a pass on that one. :lol3 Just looking at the picture gives me nightmares of trying to pick my FJR up off it's side.

As an aside, a Google search hasn't helped me figure out where this is. I do have access to a smaller motorcycle and might take a stab at it if no grabs it up in the next week or two.

A little help via PM for the directionally challenged? :beer :D
