DSrider night rides not for the faint of heart...Riding late into the night and up the parking garage on a steamy Fresno night, it was even a little chilly on the way down the mountain. Next time lets go through the fence and see if the new and infirmed can keep up. Hot syrup and pasty pancakes even tasted good, I am not quite sure about the torched hash burned browns. Uncorked is the man of the hour, I hope he is "fresh" today, I will be expecting a full ride report, and Im not talking about the motorcycle.:evil
The new guy just got a taste of the fun there is to be had at the helm of a quick and agile dual sport. Mix that with a group of psycho friends and you have a potent dose of adrenalin creating experiences, I hear he may even cut back on the viagra now.:evil Here is to tax free breakfast, welfare gamblers that pay the difference, and how. Pocahontas would be proud.

    Hey all-
Haven't been around for awhile. Just read some recent posts and am jealous. I'll need just a litttle time to get the head gasket on the Berg but haven't had ANY time for anything but work lately! If this continues I might snap like Chapman did at U.T.Austin in 1964(?). Or I could resort to the zombie-creating combo. of Benzodiazapene and Prozac:huh .
    Cheers:freaky

    Heya Tom,

Sorry to hear you been down. Know how that is, all I gotta say is get the hell out of HUSAHELL. Ya I got the bike running... But that regina cam chain, well i think it snapped. Either that or the counter balancer exploded. Either way my berg is DONE. I drug it over to Wilson's, after wrestling with them for a while it sounded like they would give me 1.3k in trade for my berg (OUCH!) and I still owe 3k. Almost took em up on the offer... But that is only for a trade in. Soooo I would have to roll off the lot with something. The only thing they had that I sorta liked was a street legal 2007 KTM 450. All said and done I would have to finance 12.5k and the bike is only worth about 8k :(

It looked like an ok bike... But I could just imagine the freeway being an absolute nightmare on it. The wife even left it up to me. She made a great point tho... I am liking the road some more then before, and the rides are a bit far for a 450. So looks like I want an LC4 640. Since those are damn hard to get yer hands on, not to mention a HUGE price tag, I am going to have to dig myself out of a hole first then sock a few thousand away for a new toy.

Looks like it will be a year or two for me. I will keep in touch though. In the meantime, if anyone wants a project bike (currently NOT running) I will sell for $1600. You all know what is wrong with it.... Buyer beware it is a nightmare.

    ~

I meant the scooter, and I went for a ride out to bass lake, and man is my foot on fire again! all along the top of it to my ankle feels like it's in boiling water. I'm gonna ice it and elevate and zone out on the TV. Good day for a ride!

rode last night up through Auberry, cut through Jose Basin and up to Shaver the back way. the weather was really nice and cool. Sorry about your ankle lane you would have liked the ride. Bass Lake? did you visit the scene? I found another lookout, but there was a gate. Musick Mountain lookout. I wonder if it is open. Scott got a chance to break in his DR on 17 miles of dirt.

I'm back from my riding my R12S to Montana. Great ride! OK for Saturday's ride, I may need a spot to meet you off the blacktop 'cause I'll probably trailer my lil Husky 250 or ride the drz there.
    Thanks

<!-- /editable --><!-- /wrapper --><!-- /header -->What a blast, this was a very challenging ride with alot of difficult terrain, one got lost, one broke down, one did not make the top, every one home safe, I think.

    Montibanks-
Good to hear from you. Sorry about the mechanical, but don't sell the bike just yet. If you insist though, I'd like first dibs. Turns out that Husaberg packaged the wrong gasket (96mm bore instaed of 100mm) and in my haste I installed the gasket w/out checking. The piston hit the edge just before TDC! New gasket and master link will be in Monday.

I've ridden that Berg pretty hard in the Mojave Desert for over 2 years before any trouble. But my impression of a Berg is like my current mairrage; When it's good and everything's clicking there's nothing better in the world. When it's bad it's the biggest pain in the ass you could imagine. Both my wife and my Husaberg are teaching me new levels of patience, compassion, and flexibility. Also I'm told I'm a glutton for punishment!

I offer to come by and help with getting it going again; if nothing else it's motivation. Also, I had a tool made to press on the DID masterlink if you want to go back to the "good" stuff.

To you guys who made the ride- LuvYa- keep pictures coming.

Got home to the puppy exorcist. I'll now call him PE for short. There was shit on the walls, ceiling, clothes, washer - took two hours to clean up - not the way I wanted to end the day.

Great pics Steve, great one of Rob (King of the Hill) dsrider. Can't wait to see more.

I slept in but still went out for breakfast. Didn't go out for the local BMW dual sport ride. I'm not quite up to Arnold yet.
