This pro stunt man was showing Isellers how to "float down slowly" as not to put to much pressure on his newly healing leg. Note this was staged at a controlled environment with foam rocks under the fragile BMW cyl head and bike was not running it was gently set down.

Note no BMW's or riders were hurt in the making of this safety poster. You can see the foam under the BMW at all contact points if you are really smart. WE CARE

Dannyzrc Nice! I can see Danny that you're spotting the landing! Rob has a knack for pictures ahah great shot! All I gotta say is be careful what you wish for! It's true what they say, the pictures really don't show the severity of the terrain.

I like the picture of the girl behind powerman seeing if she can fit the straw in her nose - it's a good all around picture!

Rob is that where BIG Dave is going to find your ideal woman? He doesn't look too thrilled about it in one of the pictures.

Steve if only Rob's cup from starbucks was still in his cup holder - we'd have a better shot of the angle that he's flying up that hill!

    Good times!

Home safe. Sorry We can't take credit on pic The "stunt man" was held up by a special cable to a large overhead crane we blended it in. If your really smart you can see this. To let the truth be told He was actually being slowly raised up in the pic. We did not want to make any unnecessary ground vibrations (remember the bike " It was gently set down" )which may have disturbed Bigfoot during his mating season. They are going extinct you know! BUT we think we still saw one! My people say there is still a BIG REWARD!!!! for any information. And we have really been counting on the money. We need this...

    Rob and Steve,

Nice shots. Sorry I couldn't finish the ride with you, but looking forward to 8/25. Sunday's ride was pretty leisurely for the first half. Later in the day, Tanner and Terry (Aircraft/BMW Trailside mechanic) found us a nice fire road from Dinky Creek area (the road we started on the last BMW Shop Ride) over to Kings River. Nothing on par with what I see from your photos above, but still fun.

I recruited a couple of more DSRIDERs for the next ride, Joe (he's the guy in the picture with us at Dusy Ershim trailhead and Marty Tripe's cousin, Chris (lives in Oakhurst and knows of many great rides up there).

Nice thing about the GS's, they are so light and agile, that it's really quite nothing to position them in all manner of instructional riding/crash positions to better teach the beginning rider. I might suggest that you contact the Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) and become full fledged Trail Riding "Safety" Instructors.

    How was the movie?

    Tom,

Since I rebuilt the damn thing I have been having trouble overheating... I wonder if I may have had a similar boo boo from Dan. Worth lookin into. I told my wife I would part it out, and get the hell out from underneath it. I really don't want to. I like the bike, just don't like the problems. I need that damn electric start working, kicking this SOB is NOT cool. If I am going to keep riding this beast I will need to do the following:
    • Bigger tank.
    • New carb (mine is really afu inside).
    • New/stronger starter (in addition to the clutched starter gear).
    • Second battery and underseat basket.
    • Second voltage rectifier/regulator.
    • New decompression cable.
    • Small pile of gaskets.
    • Newer and much larger diamond for my wifes wedding band.
This is all in addition to repairing what ever detonated on Highway 1. The thing was a whole lot of fun in the dunes, even with a knobbie on it.

I talked to my wife about finding a wrecked Husaberg that is 2003+ and bolting in a newer engine. I might do this rather then fix the one I have. I dont think the frame has changed at all since 2000, I will have to check with Dan.

I will pull the motor this month, but before I tear into the case I will give you a call for help. If for nothing else to shoot the breeze.

As far is first dibs on buying its all yours. You know what you are getting into, so I wont feel bad selling it to you.

    ~
