I've been before, but not on two wheels. I'd recommend it at least once, cool to watch fireworks going off below you. Plus, if other valley cities are having their shows on the same night (unlikely this year), you can watch them sparkle in the distance. And the picture opportunities are great, lemme see if I can dig some up:

    First, the sun goes down
    [IMG]

    Then fireworks
    [IMG]

Then time to mess around taking pictures while waiting for traffic to clear

We were camped not far from the trail, so we let traffic clear and had a leisurely drive back to camp. It does get crowded at the top, so if you want a good spot, head up early. Next time we do it, we'll be taking a better camera.

:lol3 I ain't going to ride where it's hot. LoL. Doing this ride all on 2 wheels, leaving fresno & headed straight for the mountains where I will stay up high and make my way to Portland, OR over a 4 day period to meet a friend on a GS. From there we'll head to the coast & ride Hwy 1, jump off into the lost coast, then back to hwy1 and ride the coast line back to Monterey or thereabouts then back to Fresburg:wink:

I might be able to depart the 29th with ya Layne... Call me?

I would have to completely blow through the budget but hell that is what budgets are all about right??

If I am gonna go I need to git new tires mounted ... Which means I need to order them no later then mid week next week. You all are a bad influence. I am blaming this all on you when Caren blows a gasket :D

Will be out for a moderate pace cruise this weekend I think. Realizing the ride I want to do is on a bike I no longer own (rats) so gonna have to decide if I wanna push the shiot out of the 950 offroad or putt on the 530...

Gonna hold off to see who all is interested - I think redwave may git out, maybe five0jester... Anyone else wanna git out and ride saturday?

Still trying to figure out destination so far my wants/constraints are:
    • >5000' (over 7000' preferred)
    • <50 mile radius from northfork start point
    • <85 Degrees
    • As little asphault as possible after the meet up spot (but this likely goes without saying)

Of course no dust would be listed but I think that would be completely rediculous this time/year I think...

    Kaiser Pass area?

Sooo not familiar with the mountains.

I cant get out enough to be familiar with the mountains... Those references to areas baffle me hell that mighta been fun to do, just plain ass ran outa time to research it. Spent all day playing chauffeur to the wife and kiddos and doing my 5 hour (rediculous!) oil change/tune up on the 950. Just about to start the 530, I think the heat is getting to me a bit.

Going to ride tamarack area for the simple reason we can get up above 6500' and stay there and I know dave, dave and I know how to get there. Sunday I am hoping to get on the 950 and disappear till I feel like turning around.

    Meet time: 0800-0820

    Meet spot:
44497-44863 Huntington Lake Rd, Big Creek, CA 93605
