I had 9 dirt bikes along the way, but it was 1985 or so when I sold the last one. The last 4 bikes have been street bikes, ( one RZ350, and 3 Honda 750 VFR's ). I'm in the process of buying bike # 14, but won't have it street legal or ready till sometime in May. Planning on doing some group rides ( would love to do the Screamin Beaver ???) run the 1st of May but the bike won't be ready by then:cry, and some mild trail riding, would love to go to Brushy Mountain, Brown Mountain, and down to Urawharie.

I'm looking forward to it all. And it's always fun to meet new people along the way.

You'll meet the right folks Thursday for sure...!

I get there about 5:30 or 5:45. Most folks show up between 6 and 6:30. We usually run about a dozen people or more. Once it gets warm enough a lot of people will ride instead of drive - the first meet-up was in November but it was warm and we had 8 or 9 bikes there.

Nothing too "mild" at Brushy or Uwharrie or really Brown for that matter. :evil You can take a big heavy bike through (parts of) them, but it's actually fun on a dual sport/"legal dirt bike" - as you've likely already experienced w/ your past dirt bikes! :thumb

    Montesa 125 VA motocross
    Montesa 360 VB motocross
    Montesa 247 Cota trials
Honda MT 250 dual purpose ( my first bike )
    Yamaha MX 400 B motocross
    Honda XL500 dual purpose

man, my memory is fading, forgot some of them already:huh

Anyway...is the food good down there?

Had a blast last night at Hawthornes, food was good, company was even better, good to meet new friends, and "On Any Sunday" was a hit...again.

Thursday saw another good turn out at Hawthorne's! We seem to always get around 13 or 14 folks, even though the actual participants change a little from month to month.

Next meet-up is Thursday, March 18th. Same place, same time.

I won't make the March meeting myself, as I have a family vacation that week (have to plan that around the kid's Spring Break from college). So there won't be a movie in March.

For April, I'm thinking we screen the DVD "Dust to Glory"....?

    Thanks to all who participated!

Bump for the March meet-up, next Thursday, March 18th. Around 6 or 6:30 as usual. At Hawthorne's as usual.

I won't be there as I'll be out of town on vacation, which is NOT usual.

I'm hungry already....although after reading the article about the woman who's goal is to reach 1000 lbs has curbed my enthusiasm.:huh

Once again, if anyone has old issues of any dirt bike magazines they want to get rid of, I'll take em.

    Thanks

Bump for the Thursday, April 15th meet-up. If this weather holds I reckon I'll be on two wheels, which would mean maybe Mrs. Bones would bring the TV / DVD player.

I think we said we'd screen "Dust to Glory" in April...

    Who's in?

And yeah, it's weird that the THIRD Thursday is only the 15th, but I double checked to be sure!

Hope to get a report on the maine trip.
Also on sunday the 18th. Scott at acme motorcycles is hosting a street bike and duel sport bike ride with live music and food. I'm planning on riding the old honda up and get it dirty. I also pulled route sheets off acme's web site of some good riding roads, some i know about and some i look to ride soon.
    See you thursday.

Minor update - I'll be there on my trusty VStrom, but Mrs. Bones had something come up and can't make it (so....sorry but no movie tonight).

    I'll be there around 6.

Yep! Enjoyed seeing everyone again. Sorry I had to leave at 7:30. We had maybe 9 or 10 folks there by the time I left.

Looking forward to seeing everyone on May 20th.
