Saturday works for me! I've been itching like crazy to head to the mountains on the dual sport. Going to see if I can bring a friend too. We'll both be on old 350's :muutt

Well, I survived the GNCC race this weekend. Exhausted!

But the BMW forks are at the machine shop. Fingers crossed they get the work done in a few days before the weekend's ride.

XCRider803, depends on how this week at work goes and which bike I'm bringing. We'll touch base closer to the weekend.

Hmmm... so I may be the only big bike there? I don't think I'll have any knobs either, have too long of a drive home Friday evening. New guy, street tires, bring your cameras. :rofl

    lol

Yeah I'll more than likely want to trailer up. I have two friends who may be interested in coming who haven't ridden with the group before, and all 3 of us have trucks. One of them has a good size trailer and an f250, so in theory could easily take 4 people/bikes, but he can't 100% commit at this point...

Either way, we should have a meeting spot for those who are riding up and those who are trailering... Sounds like it's going to be a FUN weekend :clap

I wish I could but I can't do Saturdays. The kids have a full schedule of Lacrosse games that will have us running all over the place. Sundays are usually my riding days but honestly, this Sunday may have my attention focused on something other than the DR if all goes as planned..... :evil

The McD's in Lenior is an easy meet spot as well, with a huge parking lot just behind it, even a spot to back a truck up to for easy on/off. Also is a straight shot up 321 for you, but Morganton is just as well.........anyone else ridden this Table Rock Rd? I would love to check that out too.

Been hunting a scooter with a little better pavement manners than the DR, but getting the stars to line up is proving to be a bit more troublesome than I expected.....

So which one do we want to plan on meeting at for the trailer queens?

It looks to me like 18 is actually Exit 105 off I-85... (old 18 is a fun road to ride up too! :clap)

Yes, I have a route in mind. It will start a couple of miles out of morganton, toward lake james, up old 105 to rt 183, thru jonas ridge, down tablerock rd, accross fish hatchery, over thru maple sally to edgemount and mormiter and possible globe road and rosecreek if time permits. this will be about 80% gravel forest service roads. there are several unimproved single tracks we can throw in if need be all along this route. [IMG] took this picture on the route several weeks ago.

Talked to the machine shop today, Monday or Tuesday at the earliest before I get my forks back. :cry

I'm also a little more banged up than I thought and probably need to stay off the KDX for a few more days. My left thumb got hurt somehow, not really sure? :dunno

I'm actually thinking about going camping up in the mountains tonight...if I ever get my act together this afternoon. If that doesn't happen I'll look for ya in Morganton and ride with the group up Old 105 but would then need to split off for TN once we get to Jonas Ridge.
