Try Playitagain Sports on rt29
Chris, I have an old but lightly used Concept rowing machine that you are welcome to if you want it.
Hey everybody. I know it's a long shot but I have to try. My sister's two dogs went missing Sunday morning off of Red Hill Rd, between Walton Middle School and the KOA.
Late yesterday afternoon the little black one came home. So the big one, Leo, is still missing.
Leo is about 100 pounds of goofy. Very sweet but a little shy. He's less than a year old neutered male. Pit Bull / Great Dane mix or something like that. Ted, you've seen the big one.
The property where she lives backs up to the Hardware River and we've been searching all up and down since Sunday. Today I rode the powerlines on the DRZ and up and down a bunch of 4-wheeler hunter's trails.
It's possible they were picked up. The little one has nerve damage and can't walk straight, so it could be they were stolen and then the thief decided they didn't want the little defective one. I'm also concerned that a hunter shot him or he got caught in a trap. The little one that came home had puncture wounds inside her mouth kind of consistent with a trap and I know some locals set traps down by the river.
Anyway, I know it's a long shot but I have to try everything I can think of.
Bad news! Will keep an eye out for the big guy. Hope he comes home.
I'll keep an eye out...I run that road frequently....hope your sister's dog makes his way home soon
Bummer about Leo. I'll watch out for him if I'm down that way.
Possible Leo sighting yesterday on the corner of Green Creek and Bungletown just off Secretary's Sands road south of Plank.
If anybody sees a 100 pound white dog on the loose in that area please call me @ 434-409-4100
I hope Leo makes his way home soon!
Hope you find him. I'm down that way often myself, and will keep my eyes peeled.
Just a friendly bump for Leo. Good luck.
Thanks guys, I appreciate it a lot.
He's still out there somewhere.
MISSING: 100 POUNDS OF DOG
There was a possible sighting around Plank but who knows if it was actually him.
Dude! Praying for your pup's safe return.
Hey Everybody! Anything you can do to help.
If you are planning on riding this weekend, and I hope you are because it should be pretty nice, I would appreciate it so much if any of you can make it to the roads surrounding my sister's Red Hill Road address, south of Charlottesville, and be on the lookout for this big lovable dog that we are so desperate to find.
I'm very much afraid that he has been killed by hunters, either accidentally or on purpose, or worse he has just been taken by someone who thinks it would be cool to steal a 100# pit mix.
I can be reached at 434-409-4100. The owners of the dog are Jack and Hillary Horn, #'s (434)-979-5788, (434) 531-3703 or (434)-981-4333.
He disappeared from Red Hill Rd near 20, between Walton Middle School and the KOA. Leo was last seen Sunday morning, 12/2 around 10 am. Reports have said he might have been seen as far away as Walnut Creek and Plank Rd. He should be wearing a black leather collar with skull and crossbones I think. He's super sweet, but shy and likely a little panicked but hard to miss a 4' tall mostly white st. bernard/pit mix.
I'll personally offer a $100 reward and I can't tell you how much it would mean to this family to find this dog.
If you have any time to do so, please look for this dude for me and his family. And if you happen to know anyone in this area, please spread the word.
Not a very happyfunguy.
Randy, I'll put your # in my phone, and will make a point to run up and down Secretarys Sand a few times (I often head down that way anyway). Here's hoping.
Number in my phone Randy. We need you to be a happy fun guy again! I can only imagine how I would feel losing one of my dogs. Eyes peeled and will call with any potential sighting. Breaks my heart!!!
I may head over to Cars and Coffee at Pantops this am, will head down past Simeon and south from there on a Leo hunt. Maybe look East of 20 around Woodridge then back toward Carters Bridge. I have the phone #'s also.
There was also a possible sighting around Walnut Creek, and then Carter's Mtn Rd around Secretary's Rd
All eyes help and the family is very grateful to anyone who can manage an hour to ride around. Side roads and back roads too.
One good thing is there are excellent roads around down there!
He's big and probably scared so take care if you do see him. He's not dangerous but take your helmet off so he will be less likely to be afraid of you.
I don't use Facebook a lot but this is a good use of it. I posted your poster on my Facebook account for you and set it to public so everyone can see it.
Don't forget to ride with treats in your pockets everyone! Put a hot dog in a zip lock bag and he won't be ale to resist coming to you when you open it up. I have been using them for training my dogs and they are incredible.
