How's next week looking for dinner and a movie at the Saloon?
I don't know who would be interested, but they're showing Bullit at the Paramount this Sunday afternoon at 2.
Lite on plot, big on action. Steve McQueen at his best. Possibly the greatest chase sequence in movies.
Not to mention the badass Lalo Schrifrin soundtrack. If you know what I'm talking about there, well you know what I'm talking about.
I haven't seen it on a big screen...um..lately...
I stopped through the Saloon last night for a bit and confirmed that we are all set for Moto Movie night on next Wednesday, (June 5) The plan is for some Romaniacs Hard Enduro footage.
I will be a bit late getting there since I have to work until 7:30, if there is someone willing to set up the projector and get things rolling shoot me a PM. If not Matteus said he would be able to get it going. I have some digital files that we can use but if anyone can bring it on DVD that would be great as it will be a bit better image quality.
Looking for future film possiblites I sent some e-mails to the folks who produced Dream Racer to try to get a copy.
I've also started and e-mail list for these movie events so shoot me a PM with your e-mail address if you would like to be added to the list.
Dang it, I wish I was going to be in town, that sounds like a ton of fun.
MOVIE NIGHT TOMORROW
Come on out to the moto saloon, we have some romaniacs footage and probably put up some of last weeks Erzburg rodeo too.
Had a great time as always!
all right! i did it! pulled the trigger and joined the orange brigade! if anyone wants the little DR, she'll be lonely and looking to ride, let me know
here's the new one!
need to get use to not being able to flat foot anymore when i stop. :) and of course get use to more power, suspension, better brakes ... oh, and a new color!!!
Looks great! I'm sure it'll give you many miles of fun times.
Look out woods, this girl's dangerous!
Congratulations on the new ride!
Thank you!! Now I just wish I didn't have to work all week or I'd be putting in some miles! Next week :)
Orange ones are faster
haha - honestly this bike will slow me down for a while at first - then once i am comfortable with it i'll speed up - yesterday i felt like i was learning to ride all over again!
It's really beginning to suck. I had to do trail maintenance today...by boat!
This is the entrance to an old mill race that is paddle-able when the water is up.
At the confluence of another high water channel.
Miscellaneous view downstream...
Past the ruins of Hazard Mill...
The ruins are the stone foundation in the foreground. The windows are on a house in the background.
Trail maintenance time!
This is what I came to remove. Before...
Then I paddled on down to the takeout.
It still needs to be moved some more but I'll need another set of hands...
Rough job!!! No wonder you hate work! Might as well look all day at concrete walls with no windows since that looks no better! I think I need to help you with your job - you shouldn't suffer so much alone!
What is all this "work" of which you people speak?
Would any of you folks know if its possible to see McIntire Fireworks from Afton? We're thinking about watching them from the parking lot of the Inn at Afton. We're thinking we could see other fireworks shows from up there as well.
You'll probably see that they exist, but it won't be much of a show. It's gotta be 20 miles.
I remember a buddy of mine saying that. I'll ask him and get back to you.
Okay, he says from the first BRP overlook is good. Afton Inn not as good but still visible. Still seems like kinda far to amount to much to me though...
Also, fyi, Crozet fireworks are supposed to be good this year Sat, 6th around 9:30
Anyone on the BRP today besides me. 243 miles today. Decided to ride to Otters Peak Lodge have lunch and ride back. Much to my surprise the Lodge is temp closed. Anyone know when it will reopen. Also the campground at Otters Creek is closed. What is this world coming to?
