I had 3 bikes so far and I have paid 900 EUR for all of them... combined :evil

    #1
    Kawasaki KZ400 four (250 EUR)

It was my first to ride on and first to learn how to fix and hack. Got it non running, connected a few wires together and squeezed 10000km out of it before it was to expensive to fix it.

    That leads us to #2
    Suzuki GS850 (200 EUR)

When I got it, it was in the original metallic blue. Put in the old battery from the KZ and rode it another year. It had a little drinking problem (1l of oil per 500km). Did one big trip on it, but mostly I used it as a commuter bike in Amsterdam, with fucked up starter motor and no kick starter. I sweated out every penny I saved on the deal push starting this 270kg bitch. I dropped it as a spare bike for 150 EUR when moving out of the Lowlands.

    Current project #3
    Honda FT500 (450 EUR)

It's my commuter/scrambler/touring bike. Something like 50-60 years ago, when there were no dirt bikes, no super bikes, no adventure bikes, there were just bikes that could do all of it.

this one does. but the other one is prettier..
After a few days of parts swapping I should have one good looking running bike and one but ugly, nonrunning, untitled bike :evil

heres a few pics of a ride I go on every year called the Ozark Mountain Scramble. Bikes have to be built/purchased for 1000 dollars or less, 750ccs or less and 1980 or older. We have a great time.

A few bikes back there is a Suzuki GS850 by "fotoduda.com"
Look close and you can see two wheel lock to secure a $200 bike. That must be one rough neighborhood!
Makes me happy that I live where I live. I could leave the key in that thing on Main Street and nobody would touch it.

My 850 needs no key to start and run ( secondary ignition ) but nobody here where I live ( a place know as Rat City) knows that !!.

    Well now they know... ;)

This neighborhood was infested with elderly people and nice quiet families, the worst kind. Most of the time they were occupied with washing their clean beige cars and polishing their garden dwarfs. They scarred the shit out of me :huh

BTW in Amsterdam this big chain is just a regular bicycle lock :D

Sounds like my kind of place.I'm sick of this criminal hot spot drug infested hole in the road.If I didn't own most of the property here,I'd pack my trash and move on.

We left ONE door of my wifes car unlocked ONE night and the next day I got in it to go somewhere and found the contents of her glove box all over the car !!.My 4 year old grandsons window is right there and he told me that he saw a man in grandmas car,I told him that he needs to wake me up if it happens again !!.

Once I left the keys of my KZ in the ignition in the center of Amsterdam for the whole night. And the bike was still there in the morning. I guess I did well with the ratty look, probably no one would take it away even if I pinned an invitation to it :D

And the other day somebody robbed an elderly woman from across the street in my quiet suburban neighborhood in broad daylight.

The darkest place is always under the lamp...

I'm thinkin that if one of the crackheads around here tried to steel my sidecar rig that they would crash it before they got out of my driveway!!.

What? I noticed the lock also and thought it was probably worth more than the bike. You couldn't even sell that GS for parts. By the way I love GS's.:freaky

Picked this up for $925 today. Always wanted one just to beat around on. Plastics have some dings but the engine is solid with a Kerker 2 into 1.
