I sure was, 170, 6'5", 29" waist, 4 years out of high school, I was still in pretty good shape, I was starting center in basketball all through school, we won the C class Michigan state championship when I was in 8th grade, I was the starting tight end in football, I played varsity football starting in my freshman year, scored 12 touchdowns my first season, ran track in Jr. high and high school, was on the 4 man team that set a school record for the mile relay that still stands today and I set a record for the 440 yard at 48 seconds flat in my sophomore year that was recently broken, pretty cool to walk into my old high school gym and see my last name still up on the record wall.

Sports always came easy for me, it was either work in the family business or play sports, no brainer, working for my father was brutal, nothing worse than being a well drillers son, you were either digging holes or threading pipe, I knew when I got older there was no way I wanted to be a well digger.

I just rode at home. It was kind of slick. I could have used a steel shoe on the rocks.

No. There seems to be a common respect among the skaters where no matter how old, or what tricks they can\can't do....it doesn't matter.

I'm also taking some pride in the fact that even at 31, I'm still learning new tricks. A few from awhile back when we filmed 30 tricks when I turned 30 (and we ended up losing half the footage :lol3)

A few more from a couple weeks ago when my brother wanted to test out his new camera gimbal thing. It was a good reminder that my body needs at least 15-20 minutes to warm up before trying anything :D

Have you ever used that talent to cross over into wave surfing, seems it would be a natural fit.

I used to snowboard, with the occasional wakeboarding & wake skating. I was good at them all, but never had a great passion for them as I do skateboarding. Skating is the only non family activity I enjoy as much or more than motorcycling.

I know folks have surfed Lake Michigan, but I assumed he meant the wake surfing where you surf behind a boat in it's wake. :dunno

Yeah I know guys that surf Lake Michigan. Mostly in the winter.
I skated up until about 7 years ago. A blown ACL slowed me down.
    And then motorcycles took over.

Well, the little WRR survived the trip to Arkansas. Great weather on the way down (aside from a head wind that dropped my mileage to 45mpg) and excellent most of the week. Had rain leaving for home, but not terrible.

Still in the corn/wind fields of Illinois:

Rode home in one shot at 550 miles. Left at 8am and rolled in at 6pm. Two lane highways all the way there, and hauling it on the interstate on the way home. Sold our house while roaming the back roads of Missouri with 1 bar of service. Now it's time to get crackin' and packin'!

I had a skateboard once. I made it out a scrap piece of plywood and some old rusty steel roller skate wheels.
