I'm in!!! Better Sat than Sun for me.
Who has the red KLR that was parked near Winona and Wilcott yestereve?
What are you doing here? Aren't you supposed to be in California?
No, seriously, ride safe. And test ride your bro's DR650 for me and let me know how it compares to mine.
I was out yesterday, rode around a bit, went to the Cobra lounge to meet some fellas from Halffast.com, rode around some more, then went home. We were really there to deliver a CB160 though.
Little rain doesn't bother us, we are from Michigan!
Probably coming back out another evening too, in the next few weeks.
I rode my dirt bike. It was all that was running and would fit in the trailer with the delivery.
There's been some interest in doing some exploring around those tension lines near MI City IN sat morning. Let's plan on getting out there ~10 AM?
I assume you mean by the prison? That's a fun area to ride.
Ha! Didn't know there was a prison there! We just turn off 12 whenever we see a dirt path. Can you make it Sat?

Hey Marcus, you working this weekend so you can bail us out when your co-workers arrest us?
A nice mom n pop place for breakfast along 12/20 somewhere? Anyone?
The fire in that picture would have been behind my bike (and to the right) in this one:
A view from the bottom looking back up:
There's a lot of area to explore back there, unfortunately all of it is trespassing.
I'm off work, but I'm not sure I can go with. My bike is apart at the moment and I don't think I'll have time to get iy back together by Saturday Morning...but we'll see.
DNR is who actually patrols that area. I have no idea how often, but I've talked to a lot of guys that have gotten tickets back in there.
I'l PM you with more info.
i'm ready to go and i will bring KLR with me.9 am Russ @ your place.
Thanks Y2K for the pics.
1 & 2 - yours truly not in the best form- damn deep ass sand. Jiminy. (that sand dune looked a lot steeper from the front- honest- really!) Sand 1 Merle 0
3 - always helpful CVestal giving a hand to Dave pushing up his shiny 08.
4- taking in the view overlooking the beach in Michigan City/Long Beach? that stretch of Lake Shore Drive is packed with beachgoers
5 - L to R gassing up in the morning Dave's KLR, Y2's GS650 on loan, CV's X-Ch, damn- what is that new bike in front
Looking forward to the next ride, but no sand please. The Cliffs? Indiana Badlands?
Looks like it was a fun ride. The sand out there is extremely deep...kind of like riding on a dune.
I wish I could have gone, but woke up at 1100 and worked on the bike most of the day.
R. Markus, the wet sand conditions that you show in your pics would have been ideal compared to the desert like conditions we had to endure.
I took the KLR to the pressure washer this morning to get rid of the trace elements of sand. My chain was still full of it after coming back from Indiana. I have ridden in sand conditions before but nothing quite like this. Paddle tires would have been the hot setup.
Yeah, those pictures were taken in January IIRC.
I've been out there in conditions like that and I wouldn't do it with the tires you guys had on. A Teraflex rear does wonders in the deep sand.
Yes, the sand gets everywhere. I couldn't even turn the knob on my steering damper after the last time I was out there.
It still looks like it was a good time, I wish I could have been out there. I have a trip coming up and I always go through my bike before hand, which is why it's apart right now.
a thread titled "Long way down in theaters" caught my eye in the pacific northwest group. checked into it, and a number of theaters in the chicagoland area are showing it for one night only on 7/31/08. Would love to see it on the big screen. Unfortunately I'm having lasix done at the exact time it starts. How's that for being born under a bad sign! Anyhow, check the link in the N.W. section for all the theaters.
sold my scooter and buy this today,i'm picking it up on saturday
and this was my scooter:
Great pickup! My sprint has been my favorite bike to date.
Y2, that doesn't look like a dual-sport!!! ;-)
