Sorry , I haven't read every bogie post, but isnt the Chinese DS bike a non running basket case, that will be hard to get parts for?

its a bit of a non running basket case yes, but the 250 isnt any better... it ahs wiring issues, no lights, etc. as for getting parts it very well could be worse, since the f11 was only made for 3 years... it took me a good bit of searching to find a stator for the f11 that was reasonably priced, as all the stuff is marked either rare or N.O.S., so folks think they have a goldmine part.... several of the stator coils alone were marked over $150... i got the whole stator plate and coils for 35 shipped in the end

as for parts for the china bike, the main frame i found is an exact copy of an early 80s XR200, engine is a direct copy of a honda SL200. i also found that 4 different companies imported the same bike under their own name, but all are the same bike.... so that expands the parts availability....

and the reason it isnt running is most likely due to either a bad CDI (a $15 part from ebay) or a wiring issue, which i am fine with tracking and rewiring.... and then the gravy on top is the upgrade to a real amount of suspension travel due to a linked mono shock rear, and the better inverted forks, along with the disks all around for braking, and a street title, which i dont have for the f11...

im not saying its a perfect trade for everyone, but its a good one for me, as i already have a good working knowledge of the chinese bikes and the patience to work on them....LOL i dont have the patience to go hunting for old stock parts that no one has anymore, and certainly dont have the bank to buy NOS parts....chinese parts are dirt cheap....LOL
