More trail for me then
I'm out too
Too bad.....I was hoping to finally meet you in the real world! I'm going to be easy to locate if any of the ADV Chicago thread crew wants to say hello...just ask Wardy or Jay Hall (if he's there) or even Wardy's older son to point out the AMA Board guy..Always my pleasure to meet motorcycle people...especially AMA members!
Were you ever in?
No surprise there.
Have fun spreading manure, I'll be raking and burning leaves all day.
no, but I'm lonely
Man what a fun day. Weather and riding were perfect. Awesome food, demo rides and good company. Test rode a 2014 TXC310r from Halls too. I am guessing at least 500 people showed.
Sounds like huge profits!
The American way, baby! They open their land up all season for riding and racing...work their butts off keeping it groomed, safe and clean of debris...Buy & maintain all the equipment needed to accomplish that... pay expensive insurance rates to run the facility... pay the taxes to all the levels of government that put their hand in their pocket for an unearned share of the family business hard work...and after all this he holds a special event and arranges for all the great things that were there today like demo rides, a tool truck PLUS all the free food and awards for the riders who distinguished themselves in the racing series at the facility!
I ask you........Just where the hell would you be able to enjoy the sport of off road riding if it weren't for those who go through all that effort for a MODEST profit?.................Even the Not for profit clubs have to turn a buck to cover their expenses!
I don't see the club making much profit yesterday. $20 to get in got me unlimited awesome riding, a great lunch, door prizes and a $20 gift card for online motorcycle accessories. The weather was perfect too
Wardy will need the skid loader, to go to the bank today.
Cue, the Gussie picture!!!
Wrong Wardy, no Kawi riding for him, he supports his sponsors!!!
True that but anything goes up in Libertyville! Need proof? Just ask Skinner.
No. I'm sorry, but you are wrong.
Illinois no longer allows for Dual-Sport conversions of dirtbikes. The state reinterpreted their rules and has cracked down on plating dirtbikes.
If the bike was NOT ORIGINALLY manufactured for Road use, it WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO BE CONVERTED.
This is actually a Federal issue in EVERY STATE. Some states apparently choose to look the other way and take the $. For some reason, the most crooked state is being a dick to everyone and no longer allowing the conversions.
If a bike is already plated (ie in another state, or converted before they changed the rules), it's grandfathered in for Illinois.
If a title\MSO\Whatever piece of paper you have says anything like "OFF ROAD USE ONLY" or "NOT MANUFACTURED FOR STREET USE".....buy a different bike if you want to ride it on the street, cause you WILL NOT get it plated in Illinois.
KTM\Husky\GasGas\Etc are able to "bypass" this issue with their MSO by the fact that they import such a lower volume of units that their emission requirements are far less stringent than those of Honda\Yamaha\Suzuki\Etc.
Your other option is to manufacture your own frame for a motorcycle. You could then get that inspected by the state police and make your own "XYZ450F" bike if you'd like. Of course it's a gray area, as technically since the motor may\may not be Federally emissions compliant, it'd technically be illegal.
Or keep believing there are unicorns and pots of gold at the end of the rainbow.
PS - I have a titled, but non-plated WR450F I'll gladly sell anyone who wants to try converting.
All KTM's come with a title that is plate-able!
But yes, buy a KTM (or Husky\GasGas\Beta\Etc) new and (assuming you pay state taxes) you should be able to go get it plated.
