Just got home from my in-laws and caught this. !0am Flyers station Cohasett rd and Manzanita.
Jeramie, you'ld like this ride. Well do it, just tell me when you have a day on the weekend or with enough advance notice I could take a day off from work just not during the last week of the month. :clap
The route, Ponderosa rd to Hogsback to 99 and home from there which ever direction you have to go.

    Hello

Rode 40 mile loop above Salt Creek camp (Paskenta) on Friday, it was perfect.
So good that I was going back on Monday for a short ride, if anyone wants to go along let me know.

Mark, I am intrigued with the West side (Paskenta) being "perfect". I would like to get back there again before the conditions get to extreme (for me). I have a job interview on Monday and since I have been out of work for a year, and am a year or two away from 'retirement' I need to take advantage of that opportunity. What kind of bike do you ride? and how much riding have you done around Paskenta?. Seems Tuesday will still offer up some dry weather so that may be my last option. Would you be so kind as to provide some reference points that may allow me to more easily follow a 'tried and true route'. With your general points of reference, I should be able to use software and Google to follow in your 'tire tracks'. Thanks, Gerry

Is any one interested in Cohasset to Hogsback tomorrow? Let me know so I can plan to meet you at Fliers in Chico.

    Thanks

Good for you Ken go get some more. Thanks for the fun ride today, if Cohassast is half as nice as what we had today you'll have a great one.

Paskenta is really, really nice right now. Get out there why you still can!

The Chico-Ponderosa-Hogsback-Chico loop should be about 110 miles. I'd join in but it looks like I will be pretty busy on Sunday. Might be able to come from the opposite direction if I skip on an invite...But they are providing lunch so that is unlikely.

Have fun and watch out for cows and a crazy skunk on Ponderosa, he will charge a bike!

Boy Ken, looks like you and Matt had a great ride. The weather looked like it was perfect. If I didn't have to rake leaves for a neighbor, I would have enjoyed exploring with you two. It certainly looks like an area that has a lot to offer. Thanks so much for the pictures and inspiration. Have fun tomorrow as well. Gerry

Wow, you moved right along and likely didn't have to spend anytime picking the bike up, doubt if I would be able to have said the same. It was indeed a beautiful day. I am looking forward to seeing your pictures and seeing if I can remember those sections Good to hear you had a great time. Gerry

What was the mileage from Chico to the next possible gas station? Redbluff or Los Molinos?

is about 15miles, Red Bluff you're right there within a couple of miles. From the flyer gas station and back is approx 135 miles so Chico to Los Molinas around that loop would be approx 110 miles. Should be easily doable (without many side trips and depending on throttle use) on a 2.5 gallon tank. Me, the 6.0 gallons on a klr is not a problem. :D

There's some fast parts of the route but I would have prefered to slow down and take it in a little more. I did stop and take a few pics, also a snack break. I have 39 pics to post in a RR when I get to it. I didn't want to get caught out in the dark and colder temps. Next time I'll leave a little earlier but I was kind of expecting to meet up with a couple of others. I checked for updates to the post at around 7:00 AM and never looked back.:dunno :ricky:lol3. When in doubt, just ride.

Wow, sure was a nice day.... Liked the link with your Spot.. Looked to be a nice route and likely traffic was not much of an issue. I should try to ride more pavement. Gerry
