Redog, it will be good to see you again! No Snow this time and I think we'll avoid the rockgardens.

My son Doug and I wound up spending the night in the woods the day these pictures were taken. Sometimes trying to find the best trails for a ride doesn't work out so well.

Hi JB, I don't see where I've posted a concrete bridge recently. So I'm guessing it's just before lunch day 1 of my Mt. Shasta Dual Sport ride. This is Delta Point / Fenders Ferry Rd. just East of Interstate 5 and a few miles North of Lakehead. It's a fantastic ride!

So that XR650R is pretty fun to haul over big logs? Probably way lighter then it looks.

I motored out hiway 36 on the 1250 Suzuki yesterday, next to no gravel, very few cars, sunny and nice! Made it to Mad River for lunch at the trailer.

After the sighting lap on the way out I spun it up a little on the way back in,simply too much fun grinding the tires to the edges on some of the long roundabout corners and many S turns.

We should have it either swept or dump more gravel for Hop Sing's upcoming open road race,36 is truly a blast and the farther you get towards the coast the better it gets!

Doug can bench press his 650R, so no big deal for him. The day damn near killed me though. Did find some really great stuff before we got into all the downed trees. Hoping to make this go through for next years ride.

I have not done 36 in a couple of months, back to work and the heat have kept me from doing any more than just my commute to work and back, but I love 36 and agree that the closer to the big water I get the better the scenery gets, hope to catch you out there some day,FS RD 1 is always on my alternate route list.

It's a 2012 Husaberg TE 300, a fantastic bike and yes it's CA. plated. Been having pretty good luck getting bikes plated recently. Just sold the bike a couple of months ago to one of my regular riders, hated to get rid of it. here'a couple other pics of it.

Heat wave........you mean summer? If a person didnt ride here when it was hot there wouldnt be much riding for months and months.

I rode all over this summer, trip to L.A included, but by September I just couldn't take the heat anymore, bike just did the commute between Redding and Rag Dump until the temps dropped, but this weekend did some 2 up into Siskiyou county, top of Shasta Bally, rode up behind Shasta dam and I feel as though the season to enjoy riding is here.

Its the best right now,Ive been riding the road bicycle 100+ miles a week and trying to get a singletrack ride together by friday or so.
80 degrees in the valley = great temps in the mountains.

The road bicycle is neat,my next over the top hobby will be long trips on a bicycle, always wanted to leave a smaller footprint as I flow through life.

For Saturdays Dual Sport ride I'll have tracks available tomorrow. Just pre-rode the route today, need to edit out all the wrong turns and sections not suitable for this ride. So more info tomorrow. Thanks Bob, bob@ironmandualsport.com

DR650, KTM, BMW, Goldwing you name it. Hadn't realized how hard it is to put together an absolutely easy ride. Every road I wanted to use had some kind of obstacle, wash out, rock garden, etc. etc. But I think I got it figured out pretty well. The whole point of this ride is to get local riders together, and hopefully plan future rides. More tomorrow. Bob

    Um, Goldwings? Now I'm concerned.

All kidding aside, I have provisional support from the spouse. I plan to ride. Looking forward to meeting you.
