Annual ritual that I've not managed to attend yet, but I will try my best this year. This is in the Taunus Area north of Frankfurt at about 881 meters.....top of the hill after a spectatcular ride from Konigstein (or another of the surrounding villages). It is from 10 to 2 and open to motorcycles, bicycles, quads, and tractors (garden, classic diesel, etc.).

If anyone is interested, post to this thread and we can always plan a meeting spot and get an ADVRider contingent up there. I live in the Mainz area and have ridden up there year round. It will most likely be below freezing up top with snow off the side of the road, but the roads should be OK.

Beautiful area. Lived in Rauenthal for a couple years and hiked and biked that area a few times. Loved it.

Think about taking a ride to the Christmas meet up on the Johanniskreuz, south of Kaiserslautern. No traffic jam between ridiculous bankers´ wifeys at the helm of ugly SUV´s at the foot of the Feldberg, nice folks and a much more beautiful ride up the mountain. Takes you 30 minutes from Mainz on the autobahn and then another 45 minutes through beautiful, serene landscape instead of honking horns.

Its been a busy week and I've finally had a chance to upload some pictures. Quite a big turnout of tractors, tillers, and a variety of old vehicles.....and they all made it to the top of the Feldberg (no trailers). I will definately do this again next year on Christmas eve.

I enlisted my neighbor on his XT 500 as honorary ADV Rider for the day.

I think most of these old tractors are still in use on local farms.

This old Lanz had a 10 liter diesel. At idle, the rpms were like a slow drum beat. The sound reminded me of an old steam locamotive.

    Not sure what this is.

These tillers are street legal but are not allowed to exceed 6 kmh!

Looks like it was fun. So many old tractors here. We were on our way home from France otherwise I'd have tried to make it.
