Like that Johnson Valley split idea, but we'll do that after New Years, maybe MLK weekend? Usually stay up at Holly Rd, easier in and out , or in Borrego Springs.
Jeff, your area on satellite photo looks like we might sink in. Jerry, dunno about yours. ..stable? I was out there from the 15-19 and sunk in in an area I thought was safe. Had some buddies pull me out, very lucky. The diesel motorhomes can sink in, this got worse before it got better! We're about 34,000 lbs loaded
Conditions were ideal, even made it to the top of Blow Sand on my xr250, shot thru a lot of slot canyons.
Still a lot of deep sand - xr600 (Bessie) Butte Pass
Look for the Snowman on top of the trailer!!
It's going to be fun
I had to delay departure... I'll be there 27th (Thur) mid to late afternoon.
We'll c u out there. Should b there then
We'll have to do it again soon.
Thanks to everyone who came out to celebrate!!
And a special thanks to the wives that came out to support us and play with us in the desert.
We had carne asada pot luck one night and some kick ass fireworks on New Years eve.
Always tell myself to get more camp ground pictures but I never do... Next time!!
We had a bit of a cold snap hit us this year. So the nights were a little chilly but the riding was great.
We got a good amount of rain Sunday night which made for perfect conditions for the last day of the year and the first day of this year.
Saturday's riders from the top of telephone butte at the truckhaven area
The mud arch
We rode fish creek from Ocotillo wells to sandstone canyon
You can see the clouds crepping in that rained on us that night.
After the rains Cory and I went out to play.
My son only 22 months and riding solo!!
Nice pics. Jerry, Happy New Year. Wish I could have joined the group, but I had to work.
Did Jeff show up?
Great job with the kids looks like Santa was good to them.
till we ride again...
Great pics Jerry... Most of our riding was south of 78... lots of fun in the mud hills, washes and Superstition... we had too many riders in our group to come crash your ride. Had guys and wives from RIDERS, TT, DBA and Cafe Husky.
Great times... good ridiing... bit of rain in the evening Sunday to knock down the dust !
This one is just so cool.
Thank you Jerry, we had a great time. Nice group, some good trail riding fo-sho.
I'll post up some pix soon. And yes, riding south of the 78 is da-bomb. Last and only two times I have been to Ocotillo was on a greenstickie; a plate opens up a world of scenic enjoyment.
